Neighbourhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

- stevebintleyBedford, United Kingdom8,758 contributionsUnique storeQuite the institution and a rather unique store selling more unique products than you’d find readily elsewhere. It’s always busy but there’s plenty of staff on hand if you need help. The only frustration is the exceptionally slow lifts, but this helps to remind you of the historic nature of the building. Certainly a store that you should admire from the outside, even if you don’t go shopping inside!Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 September 2023
- nowpackingDallas, Texas3,783 contributionsLove Liberty London!Wonderful shop at the back entrance with lots of great British items, teas and treats. Gorgeous architecture and history becomes the displays for this incredibly unique store! The building itself contains beautiful woodwork and antiques that become stunning displays. Don’t miss the famous Liberty fabrics! Must visit at Christmas as the shop is magical! Wander amongst the creative displays - you will find something unique.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 October 2023
- yellowperil2018London, United Kingdom66 contributionsInspiring and incredible range of high quality products, a must visit.Love this place so much, it’s such an inspiring place to visit. My daughters interested in fabrics and fashion and it’s almost like an exhibition there is so much amazing content there. It’s also an amazing building in the heart of London. Fantastic.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 November 2023
- SarnyBexleyheath, United Kingdom935 contributionsClassic beautiful shopI have been in Liberty's London many times over the years but had planned a London Christmas lights walk with my husband and our dog so was looking at dog friendly shops and was surprised to find that Liberty's was. To be sure I contacted Liberty's customer service and got a very prompt, friendly response from Kate to assure me that was the case. We visited and had a good wander around the shop which I've always thought of as classic and beautiful. We got some lovely Christmas presents while there. The only thing I would say is that I did look at the windows/doors on entry and nowhere did it say the store was dog friendly. Much enjoyed though and recommended for anyone if ever in the area with or without dog,Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 November 2023
- Jake LNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom110 contributionsLush shop but very hotIt is a lovely shop with lots of interesting things to look at. There are toilets but not enough for the customers so trying to get one is no easy feat Lots of pretty things to look at. Particular in household where things are more unusual. My only issue with place is the heating was on full so was quite uncomfortableVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 December 2023
- Dave Lynn P3 contributionsBeautiful. What am amazing building. We really enjoyed the experience and got some unusual gifts to take home. The floor layout is oddly charming but the architecture is what you have to inhale and let your mind wonder to past times. It's a must to visit when in London.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2024
- Ingeborg56Oslo, Norway2,397 contributionsA wonderful atmosphere!I try to come here every time I visit London because it is so much more than a shop and I love the atmosphere! I received a wonderful service by a lady in the jewellery department. I find that Liberty has products which I do not find in other shops in London.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 May 2024
- Maira2 contributionsAlways pleasant and interestingAdore liberty from its history to its products to its identity. I tend to pop in to see the fabrics or sniff around the perfume section as there’s some great relatively niche selections. Always a fun little trip.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 June 2024
- Roving519097Sevenoaks, United Kingdom79 contributionsAn iconic storeA London must visit. As iconic as Fortnums or Harrods. Whilst the other half is getting help and advice on perfumes and make up, admire the amazing architecture. Love the hanging light in the stairwell and the period fire hydrants.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 June 2024
- 1979cccCheshire, United Kingdom125 contributionsBeautiful, apart from the sunglasses counter.Beautiful as always. But the lady on the sunglasses counter needs to check herself! Always a nice thing to mooch around Liberty, the lady on Skin Rocks was awesome and gave us a few samples, as a friend, in TV, had recommended it to us. The lady on the sunglasses counter was very frosty to say the least, everyone else were wonderful.Visited July 2024Travelled on businessWritten 8 July 2024

Its a really nice and unique building with rich history - came here from recommendation of a friend. But inside the building looks like just a department store with many levels selling different items and they are all Very expensive. There are some nice items but definitely not worth the exorbitant price. We only walked around for 15 mins and got bored and left. Only come here if you are very free and have time to spare.

I will never buy online from them again. I have ordered a product 2 weeks ago and have been sent the wrong product TWICE! Since the wrong product was sent the second time, I have been emailing and after 5 days of chasing (zero response), I decided to call: the person on the phone was not able to do anything and mentioned someone else from the team would be in touch with me shortly... Still no news after 24 hours. Terrible service. Extremely disappointed. They have just lost a customer...

One Saturday afternoon, I visited Liberty's with three friends. We left empty-handed as it was incredibly pricey (ÂŁ40 for a water bottle, ÂŁ20 for a notebook or ÂŁ350 for a toy pig, anyone?) however we enjoyed browsing the many departments. Our favourite was probably the home section on the top floor which was full of beautiful tea sets, bedding and ornaments. We also enjoyed the stationery section which sold a wonderful collection of cards and paintings.
Overall, it is worth a visit simply to browse but do not come here if you are wanting to buy a cheap raincoat or a pair of Crocs.

I've lived in London all of my life and have walked past this so many times. Due to it being the Christmas period, I thought I would tae al look around inside and see what there was to offer. I was surprised to see how many stores are actually inside and it's nice to see some more boutique shops where you can buy some unique items. In terms of fashion items, there are a great selection of clothing stores and I found myself coming out of there after spending a few hundred pounds. Definitely worth passing through if you get the chance

shocked to read other negative reviews on here. yesterday I went to the maria tash store in liberty. they were very busy, but we were told by a lovely lady that we were to wait in a certain area until someone was free. after about 10 minutes, someone was available to help us. I came in with the intention of buying one piece but things took a turn and I left with two. the lady who served us wasn’t pushy at all, and was even recommending some less costly alternatives. the piece I came in for specifically was the last one (which had been reserved for a member of their team) so I was so grateful when the lady said I could have it. overall, a 10/10 experience, I am so happy with my jewellery and cannot wait to come back in a few months time! we were visiting london from cornwall and this is the highlight of my trip❤️ thankyou!

I have bought several of their fine earrings which are extremely expensive. However, to my disappointment almost all of them fell off. Thousands of dollars gone… when I contacted them to let them know, they did nothing about it. Don’t buy there!!!! At least if you don’t want to waste all the money you saved up!

It may be me having to wear a mask and follow their convoluted signage, but I found Liberty to be really disappointing today. There is now only a cafe on the 2nd floor and it’s horrible. No ambiance, lack lustre service and below average food. Whoever the General Manager of Liberty is needs to get their act together

I usually go to liberty to Beauty or fragrance department. I’ve personally never had a bad experience but never great enough to leave a review. Today I would like to thank Jasnam, from Aveda for being so kind, knowledgeable and very approachable. Last time I was there, she recommended the mask and the overnight serum for my hair and gave me some samples. I loved them so much I went back to buy them. She has also recommended to sign up to the aveda loyalty cart so I can enjoy cash back to spend in aveda salon, which was also very worth it since I spend money in product anyway. I know Aveda it’s quite pricey although worth i, but it’s so much better when you find someone who can recommend the right things for your hair in such a beautiful environment. Worth a visit.

I visited Liberty for the first time whilst on holiday in London.
On the plus side, the shop itself is very aesthetically pleasing both outside and in, meaning you get to shop in a beautiful, atmospheric building.
But, like sports car with no seats, the charm is all on the outside. The shop itself is nowhere near as good as London's other department stores, such as Harrod's or Fortnum & Mason. I thought it was more of a glorified Gift Shop, as the wares being sold were not as good as other places.
In addition, the café was extortionately priced.
If passing, I would recommend a nose around, but I would travel deliberately to have a look round Liberty's.

I love this store. It never disappoints. Perfectly curated come ready to spend some money and enjoy looking at items as if in a museum. Plus the Liberty prints are always fabulous to look at.
