We visited Hamleys on a weekend day during December. Needless to say, the store was absolutely jammed, but even so, this is a destination for the toy and game afficianado.

We know it was incredibly busy, nothing stood out as being special or different from other toy shops definitely not Christmassy. The windows looked nice and festive though. It would be nice to see some old traditional/ retro things' too especially sweets. Overall the store seemed drab. We never thought we would ever say this about hamleys 😞

We booked tickets to see Santa at Hamleys regent street for our 5 year old daughter, she was very excited! When we got there there were no signs to direct us to his grotto although staff were helpful dispute how busy it was. When we got to the grotto names were called out and sticker name tags were given to... More

Took my 5 year old to Hamleys yesterday and the look on her face of just pure excitement was what its all about. A must see & do. Yes its a bit more pricy but its not B & M. Saying that the Frozen doll she chose was reduced so it was actually cheaper. She will remember the trip forever... More

Wow, packed to the brim with Christmas shoppers. If you have to use the lift be prepared to wait. Some great bargains and the staff are all happy and helpful even though they must have wanted to scream with the crowds. Would not like to go with young children as you would never get out as there is so much... More

If you prepare the kids beforehand, this is a fun stop in your London shopping trip. It can be overwhelming so take it slow and let the kids just be kids. Be prepared to let them chose one item, even something small, as leaving empty handed is just mean. Prices are probably higher than big box stores but then this... More

I loved it all, the decorations and lights the amazing displays even a railway running around the ceiling.visited yesterday was greeted by elves, great. Entered store thought ok a bit drab but maybe it's. Because I'm older. NO. After going around the whole store on every floor I found no decorations... More

Having just seen Spurs draw with Leicester the previous day, I decided to leave our hotel in Enfield early and head into central London for breakfast. We then went on a bit of a shop and ended up in Regent Street. It had been years since I last visited Hamleys toy store and this was my 11 year old son's... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
