Plenty of choice here
Apr. 2019 • Couples
We actually go to this market on a regular basis. The market is pay parking and has recently changed from cash payments to pay by phone with a card(debit or credit). Having got through that there is a good range of stalls in the market, mostly food based, fruit, vegetables,a fish stall and a butchers stall. There are quite a lot of shops around the perimeter and dotted around the central area. It is possible to find most of what one might need and the market is well served by public transport with buses running along outside and Upton Park tube station just 1 min walk away(District/Metropolitan) line. Well worth a visit especially for fruit and veg and,an increasing rarity these days, there are pay WCs available.

Local market

Interesting to see the vegetables, clothing, halal butchers, fabric, furniture and nail salons all abuzz on a Saturday morning. But no where to eat. We found a brand new Euro coffee shop on the first side street to the west of the market from the tube station. Delicious cappuccino. That was the ONLY choice.

It's very colourful and vibrant market. Near Upton Park station and very close to old West Ham stadium. You can see people from different ethnicities which defines east end. Fresh fruits, fish meant clothes veg you name it's there. Happy days

An OK market

There are lots of vegetable stalls, although the quality is not always great. Some Brussels sprouts (on the stalk) I bought in the far organic veg stall were already off when I tried preparing them. They have the usual green grocer companies one can find in most London farmers markets, and also some extra ones. Generally, veg and fruit selection is quite good and there is lots of choice. There are few butchers I am still discovering. The far end meat stall is quite good, and I also like the organic butcher right in the middle. Couple times I have used the far end fishmonger, seem to be the same co as in Marylebone farmers market, only a smaller version. The fish was good. However I got bad experience with the fishmonger right at the entrance. I bought 12 oysters to take home, and they weren't very good at all. I'm used to eating oysters every week in Marylebone farmers market for some years and never had a bad experience. However I got sick from these ones, they also did not look good once opened, were extremely milky which is not usual for the oyster season. I will certainly not use this fishmonger anymore. Overall there is lots of selection in the market, but not everything is high quality.

Bargain place, quality butcher shop, veg and fish
Jun. 2015 • Couples
Queens market is my daily need market place. Asian, European, West Indian and other ethnic foods are available here. Should not expect much customer service here from most of the shops because of nature of the people working here but nothing to worry since they are not rude. There are two fresh fish shop however would recommend the proper one which in a shop and get fresh fish on daily basis. Butcher shops are recommended second one at the point of entry. The one always seems busy. Fresh meat always. First shop of butcher will not recommend since they seem a bit dodgy with quality of meat and how they display.

We rented a flat for two weeks in London. This market was a couple of stops on the underground from our flat. It was were we purchased our fresh fruit and veggies. First of all I loved the atmosphere of this market, the mixture of people and products. The market included a mix of produce, meats, bolts of cloths, clothing and make up. We walked away with with 3 bags of produce: apples, carrots, pears, grapes, peaches, melons for about 6 pounds. We came back another time to restock on some items. The markets are also a great venue to had eat wonderful food at budget prices. We ate at a West Caribbean food truck and dined on jerk chicken (fall off the bone, wonderful flavors) for 1.50 to 3. (depending if you order chicken for one or two) Fried plantains for 1.50 - 2. I loved them both and ended up ordering more chicken to take home for dinner later. I will admit my favorite part of staying in London was visiting this and other markets.
