Neighbourhood: Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.

The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic and the Chelsea people going there are all elegant casual but interesting to watch. I never miss it on Saturday morning when i am in London.Hi JM. Thank-you for your review and we're so glad you visit the Fine Food Market every time you're in London. Also, do try Pavilion Road, at the side of Peter Jones - it's another foodie heaven! - Auberon Von SOxford, United Kingdom3 contributionsDuke of York carnival atmosphere !After an expensive morning watching my wife spending all our money, we (wife+2kids) saw a chance to have a kind of impromptu picnic at a small grassy square called Duke of York, at the end of King's Road. It just so happened to also have an open-air food market going on. So we milled around for while, each choosing a favoured nosh (all excellent value) and the sat under the portico of the adjacent Saatchi gallery, dining in beautiful warm sunshine. There was a carnival-like atmosphere and we all had a lovely. I highly recommend it.Many thanks for your lovely review Auberon, you experienced exactly what we set out to achieve when creating Duke of York Square. When you next come back, do try the lovely bars, restaurants and cafes on Pavilion Road, located at the side of Peter Jones. We look forward to welcoming you to Chelsea again soon.Written 27 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 November 2023

Visited on a Tuesday in February half term. Small entrace on Kings Road, opens up to fairly small open air group of shops. Buildings look new. Pleasant mall, mostly designer shops, clothes, beauty, restaurants.

I took my son and his cousin to the Santa's Grotto in Duke of York Square for this first time this Christmas. You are welcomed into the grotto by a couple of elves, very friendly and smiling. The grotto itself is very cosy and atmospheric and Father Christmas himself just as you want him to be. He had a good chat with the kids and asked them about themselves and their Christmas wishes and the photographer then took photos, which were very quickly emailed to us. The most amazing thing is that all this is completely free. You have to book online, but there is no fee at all. I thought we'd be stung for the photos, but these were emailed free of charge and we were able to take our own photos too. There was even a small goody-bag for each of the kids. I would thoroughly recommend this grotto. It is equally as good as the well-known paying ones and much less of a conveyor-belt type approach. You feel as though Father Christmas really does want to talk to your kids and is interested in what they have to say. It was a really lovely way to start the Christmas celebrations. 10 out of 10!

The name refers to the old barracks which Cadogan Estates and refurbished and redeveloped as a quality shopping, art and eating destination, with high quality retail and catering outlets alongside the Saatchi Gallery.
Only 5 minutes from Sloane Square tube, the Square comprises a number of different interconnected landscaped spaces, with a new contemporary exhibition nearing conpletion, which will change the dynamics of the area.

I could sit here all day and watch the world go by as it's such a clean & tidy space off Kings Road. However, the best day to come is Saturday when the fabulous farmer's market is on. There is such a variety of foods on offer from all over the world that you're spoilt for choice. Some of it is a little on the pricy side but them again I don't live in London whereas a local would probably say it was value for money.

5 of us took a little trip down to the food market yesterday (Saturday). It's a fantastic little place for brunch/lunch. People were walking around carrying their dogs and little glasses of Pimms and wine, enjoying the huge variety of food available. The Square is extremely quaint and located next to the gorgeous Saatchi Gallery and the grounds before it, as well as adjacent to the famous Partridges.
We had the duck confit sandwiches served with a personal choice of salad and hoisin sauce (highly recommended!) from the stall right outside Partridges, which tasted unlike any other duck confit I've ever had and were absolutely sublime. You can't miss it - there's a big sign proclaiming it as the "Best Sandwich in Chelsea", and they aren't joking! After a second round of beef lasagne, also delicious and filling, we had a glass of Pimms each as we walked around a little more and then went off to Hyde Park. This outing is something everyone should do - you'll be spoilt for choice, and we already have plans to visit again just to sample more of the delicious food available at other stalls.

Booked this free visit to Santa's Grotto when I had left it too late to book any closer to home. So beautifully done. Only a group of seven were shown in to see Santa inside a log cabin with photos of all his reindeer on the walls. Children were asked if they had been good and what they were hoping to receive at Christmas. They were then invited to tug at Santa's beard to see if it was real - none of that fake Santa beard here. More chatting with Santa and then a photo was taken. We were asked to give our email addresses for the photo to be sent to. This email arrived within a few minutes of leaving grotto. I was expecting this to be the bit when we would be asked for payment for photo but no, this was free too. Children also left with a small goody bag. Made for great trip out, plenty to do/places to eat in area afterwards. Will definitely go back next year.
