When in London, I invariably stay near or travel to Kensington High Street - notably the stretch of the High Street between Kensington Gardens and the Design Museum. I lived in South Kensington for a number of years and Kensington High Street quickly became my...More

This street is somewhat of a "has been", as nowadays it's past its glory days. There are numerous shops and restaurants along the street, but definitely no "WOW" effect.

Once one of the most fashionable of shopping streets has lost out to the great maw of Westfield...Other than M&S no serious department store but lots of smaller, and somewhat inferior shops. Travel agent heaven plus a good Uniqlo, Wilko and TKMaxx

One of the biggest and busiest shopping streets in West London, interesting to wander along and see the upmarket shops. Quite varied architecture, and well served by public transport.

Kensington High Street is the main shopping street in Kensington. A great place to shop, dine or just visit a pub. Make sure to visit the church St Mary Abbotts church located on Kensington High Street.

South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming
