Attended a very informative talk given by a volunteer guide. The museum occupies the old stable and the basement of William Morris's old London home. The main house is only open to the public on special occasions as it is privately owned. Entrance is free and a small shop sells a range of items. The museum is undergoing development at... More

This was the home of William Morris and is run by the William Morris Society. It has free entrance and very enthusiastic volunteer staff, but there really isn't much to see. We were disappointed that so little of the house is on show and wondered what the rest of the house is used for. If you are passing its worth... More

William Morris is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain and this gem of museum is in the basement and mews of Kelmscott House overlooking the Thames at Hammersmith. The staff are lovely and although a rather small museum it is well worth a visit. It is best to check the opening times in advance.

This B&B is probably one of the best we have ever stayed in, and really good value for money. Stunning rooms, delicious food and Cheryl and Tom are the perfect hosts, you couldn't ask for more. We stayed in a large room with a really comfy super king size bed, a fabulous en-suite and the best selection of tea, coffee... More

I'm not a massive fan of William Morris - so imagine this could be of more interest if you are! I went on a local trip run by The local 'I love hammersmith' campaign last year so it was free (with suggested donation) . It's a couple of rooms and a guide, with a little book shop on the lower... Kelmscott House is set in a quaint riverside development full of character. Unfortunately the ground and upper floors are let to private tenants, however, a small coach house and the basement has been transformed into a small museum with a shop, but beware of the supercilious lady operating the printing press!
