The courses might be good but if you fall ill and have to cancel - consider your money gone! There is absolutely NO flexibility unless you cancel weeks in advance! The lady does not seem to realise that one does not choose to become ill a certain day, especially not when having paid over £100 ! She offered one day... More

After our friendly and informative class, with plenty of hands on tuition and patient guidance, I went straight to Amazon and bought a rice cooker, then invited 8 friends round for sushi! The class was hugely enjoyable and Reiko is an excellent teacher.

Arrived with an open mind but no specific expectations and this turned out to be a great experience combining new cooking skills, a delicious lunch and an insight into Japanese culture. This takes place in Hashi's brand new kitchen. We were in a group of 7 people which worked really well. Hashi starts by going through some basics of Japanese... More

I am sadly now coming to the end of my second course with Reiko and oh how I will miss it. I came across Reiko's cookery school by accident; a few years ago I was looking for a Japanese cookery book and after a lot of research chose her book 'Hashi a Japanese Cookery Course' (which I highly recommend by... I went to Reiko's sushi and sashimi class this weekend with my boyfriend for his 25th birthday present. I spent a long time researching which class to go for as there is such a choice across London these days, with the selling point for me being one that includes sashimi (where to buy and how to slice), which this certainly... This class was held to extremely high standards and the food was amazing. It's given me the skills to throw an amazing dinner party. The kitchen is beautiful and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would highly recommend.

The Reiko/Hashi cooking experience was an amazing experience from start to finish. What can be quite an intimidating cuisine and skill from a beginner level, Reiko makes the fine art of Japanese cuisine accessible to all. I walked away with both an ambition to learn more and pragmatic, usable advice and skills to ensure that I take what I learnt... More

I cannot over emphasise how much I enjoyed attending this course, Reiko was a brilliant and patient tutor, clear instructions in a relaxed atmosphere and to top it all we were able to sit down and eat the food we had prepared. Am looking forward to making sushi at home but now with more insight and hopefully more success.

Reiko is very friendly approachable and informative, with a great knowledge of making sophisticated sushi and other Jpanese delicacies. The course was very professional, well structured and enjoyable - I left with a much improved knowledge of the cuisine and a definite desire to use my new skills at home!

I joined Reiko's Beginner's Course as a way of extending my knowledge of Japanese cuisine before visiting Japan. It was everything I'd hoped it would be - and more. Reiko is a fantastic teacher - and not a half-bad cook too! Her small classes are informal and very much hands-on and, as we cooked, we also chatted about all things... More
