Went here yesterday on the last day of our heatwave in London! Lovely outside coffee shop and separate cafe/restaurant with a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and hot food. Lots of wasps and pigeons though! The house itself is stunning - the house and art...More

An excellent collection of paintings by artists including, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Vermeer, Van Dyck and Reynolds. The volunteers are charming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. No charge for entry. Children are welcome and activities are available. The extensive grounds are used for concerts and theatre performances.

There are 5 Vermeers in England. The Queen has 2, the National Gallery has 2, and the fifth (The Guitar Player, c. 1672), is at Kenwood House. And what a wonderful little painting it is. Go, if only for that. Many other things though. More...More

The grand manor greets guests as they emerge from the woods. Tip: It’s free to tour but pay attention to the art work and you’ll discover masterpieces.

The artwork alone is worth the time to visit, but there is so much more. History and intrigue - this was a great addition to our literary and artistic meanderings! A VERMEER! A CONSTABLE! Always great to run across these!
