Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small gallery showing interesting pieces by Barbara Chase-Ribould. Not many others at the gallery so should have been a peaceful and contemplative time.
But visit spoilt by officious gallery staff following me round the gallery! I stayed in one room for a while, one of the gallery staff looked in four times checking on what I was looking! It was very officious and a shame that they don’t just let their visitors look at the art in peace.
Have never experienced this before in any gallery I have visited and it would put me off visiting again.

This is an interesting exhibition based around wood, it's carbon holding potential and environmental impact.
It is only small but lots of info written around the exhibits and free to get in.
A natural follow-on is to look at peat bogs and the Border Mires.

Can't believe I've seen Jeff Koons exhibitions here in the past. Lately it seems like a high schooler's idea of an installation or conceptual project. A couple artists looked like they made an effort, papering the walls with altered maps, or a hallway hung with stretched fabric or something? Maybe the current artists/curators had grand intentions, but generally it seems like you've seen or experienced nothing. Awkward too, was having to deny the door staff your contact information. Also, it seems they don't even have washrooms! Doesn't live up to the hype, and not worth the journey.

They got two galleries, which is just a few minutes' walk from each other. I would suggest people to visit if you drop by as it's free anyway OR if you truly understand the arts. Most of the pieces there are like installation arts or conceptual arts, which I, as a non-art major person, don't quite understand and they are sort of boring for me. But, I still appreciate the effort the artists and staff did. Just that it is not for everyone to understand.

Every time we come to London from Australia we try to visit the Serpentine galleries and every time they have been shut for one reason or another.
Today we tried again. We had lunch at The Magazine and asked the way to the gallery. We were told it was shut for refurbishment. This was only in relation to the North gallery, we found out. No mention that the South gallery was actually open which we found out by accident as we were leaving the park that way.
The exhibition we saw was by Yinka Shonibare. The 'paintings' were ok but the highlights for us were the stunning installations. Very different and interesting. And well worth a view.
There's also a lovely bookshop, bigger than we expected, and with a focus on the arts.

A must visit, inspiring art and it is free! The current exhibition (feb 2023) is works by Barbara Chase-Riboud. It is incredible to have her best pieces all in the same place, with detailed explanations (on the walls or via app). In the middle of the hub hub of Hyde Park and London, the art is an oasis of calm where you can think. The staff is super friendly. And of course you need to see the restaurant on the side designed by Zaha Hadid, spectacular!

I went especially to see the Kamala Ibrahim Ishag exhibition as I had read a review about it online. Loved it. What a wonderful artist! The venue was super clean, had toilets, displayed the works really well. The staff were very friendly. One member of staff was particularly interesting and had a lot to say about the exhibition. An excellent free exhibition / venue.

Serpentine is an art gallery located inside Kensington Gardens. There's an ever changing program of exhibitions. On the day that I visited. it happened to be an exhibition of "art" by Emma Kunz.I kid you not, her art is described as her gifts of telepathy, prophesy and healing using pendulum assisted drawings to answer her questions of philosophical and other esoteric questions. Total waste of time. Looked like something drawn by a child using Spirograph Cyclex Drawing Tool.
Had the exhibition not been free, I'd been really angry.

despite the architecture the restaurant fails miserably; the formal dining area is overly rigid - without the quality of food this might suggest - and the are that surrounds it..well, it hasnt quite decided whether it wants to be a low grade, poor choice of food, well, a caff really without any of the charm one might expect. Staff is inattentive and disinterested, live music was poor

A sunny spring day through the Park. It couldn’t be better located!
Make sure you visit both buildings, only few minutes apart from one another.
The two shows I’ve admired had both plenty of informations, a good book store, audio guides and lovely assistants to answer any questions.
At the largest location also a good coffee/restaurant.
