About
Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. It is also one of London’s most iconic and visited tourist attractions. Over the years, it has been the scene of over 150,000 performances; from Wagner to Sinatra, The Beatles to Beyonce, Muhammad Ali to Adele, and is home to the celebrated BBC Proms. Whilst the venue is most famous for its shows by night, by day this treasured building is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and guided tours of the building.

Fun night at great historic venue
My wife, sister-in-law, and I attended the Echo and The Bunnymen concert at Royal Albert Hall last week and had a great time. I am not a big fan of the band but being a huge music fan, I was excited to visit the historic venue. I was not disappointed . We sat in a box with 4 friendly guys from Canada and enjoyed the concert. The staff was helpful and there was never a wait to use the bathrooms or to get a drink. If you love music and historic venues you must go to The Royal Albert Hall.

    Wow, wow, wow...
My first visit to this fabulous site... although I have often watched shows filmed in the location, and planned to visit. Being at a show in person showed that the entire site is enormous, far bigger than one could expect from only viewing it on TV. Hard to fathom that this beautiful building was built over a century ago... Even if you don't have a show to watch, just walking around the building is an experience, but, once inside, it is even more impressive.

Midge Ure Celebrating 7 Decades ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We were so excited to be able to attend the concert by Midge Ure to celebrate his 70th birthday. And the icing on the cake was that it was at the Royal Albert Hall, such a beautiful building and like Midge, a National treasure. My brother and I are devoted fans of Midge and Ultravox after following them since the mid 1970s, so to hear his music echoing through the Royal Albert Hall in all its magnificence was just breath taking. We had booked Loggia box 18 for us all and honestly, it was perfect. The acoustics, lighting and atmosphere were amazing. The only thing to have made this experience even better would have been to meet him, as we never have, even though we have followed him all these years. But hey, one day! And this event is one we will hold close to our hearts always. Thank you Midge, and everyone who made it possible at the Royal Albert Hall!

Amazing concert Danny Elfman and Tim Burton
This was BRILLIANT!! This was a concery focused on the music of Danny Elfman and films of Tim Burton. All i can say is this was an amazing experience and couldnt fault it in any way. The concery covered 15 films with music and imagery from the films performed by a superb orchestra. My personal favourite was the Batman and Batman Returns montage of music. There was also a wonderful performance by Danny Elfman himself singing the brilliant songs of Nightmare Before Christmas- amazing. At the very end there was the added bonus of seeing Tim Burton as well live during the send off. Probably the best experience ive had at the RAH. Faultless… thank you

    What an experience
Went here on a coach trip from Bournemouth. Have been to concerts/shows here many times but to see all the bits usually hidden away from you was amazing. Sat in a big private box and got to see the Royal Box close up. Had a very lovely and informative lady guide - she really made the visit memorable. Cant wait to visit again

    Excellent concert
Really great venue for a concert. Customer service from staff was brilliant. A special mention goes to Ollie the supervisor who helped us to move seats due to a fear of heights and us not realising how high the top tier was. Really great experience made better by helpful team of staff.

    Spectacular historic venue
Spectacular venue. Great acoustics. Comfortable seats (although we stood up a lot, singing along). Good facilities, particularly the wonderfully OTT Kensington Garden cocktail bar and restaurant in the basement.

    Wonderful
Went to the Royal Albert Hall for a concert, my friend and I were a little peckish so went down to the 1871 Bar. Such a beautiful place and the atmosphere was truly wonderful. We were quickly served and when asked for someone to eat ,even though all the tables were booked we were given menus. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, thank you to Michael and co who made our experience complete. I would highly recommend dining or just having drinks prior to a programme as it's truly worth it. Thank you to all the ushers and staff, all so nice, I will continue to go to The Royal Albert Hall because the experience is phenomenally good.

    Stunning venue
Booked to see Rick Astley as always wanted to visit this venue. It is stunning and cannot wait to return. We had tickets in a box shared with another couple. Seats very comfy, also front pair of seats set a lot lower down a step, so although sat directly behind them our view was totally uninterrupted. Made use of pre ordering wine which was waiting chilled on our arrival. Didn’t think it was too badly priced and made pleasant drinking (£34 white). So much easier than going to the bar. Staff also come to check if everything ok and check if you wish to order more. Can do via QR code in box and they bring to you. All staff excellent and entry & exit amazingly swift with zero queues. Very swift bag check. Boxes have their own coat rack so need check into cloakroom. Performance was good too so all in all a top class evening out. The exterior of the hall also stunning illuminated at night.

    Impressive concert hall
I visited for Messiah from Scratch at the end of November. We booked the Grand Tier which turned out to be seats in a box. This was not clear when we booked but the seats are tiered and the view was superb. I visited a long time ago for the Proms, both my visits have been excellent with easy access. Bus stop is very close but underground is quite a walk away. Magnificent building.

My first experience of Cirque Du Soleil was in Vegas in 1995, and it was a stunning show. A few years later i took the family to see them at The Albert Hall. Again, it was stunning. The high trapeze work was breath taking, the over the top costumes and make up- only added to the visual feast. Over the years i came back a few times, and each time it just felt like costs were being shaved off the productions. The costumes not nearly as flamboyant, same with the make up. Too much time with the unfunny clowns. And after Kooza in 2014 i decided I'd never return as it was really poor. Then I read the reviews that Luzia has bucked the trend and is out of this world, so I spent £600 on five tickets for the family, and find myself wondering when the good stuff is going to start. Ok, maybe in the 2nd half then. No, the good stuff didn't come. There were no high flying acts to take your breath away. Clearly these people are very skilled, but for £115 a ticket i want to be blown away, and i wasn't. I don't want to see a juggler throwing some batons in the air thanks. I could get that for free down at the Southbank. And the couple doing keepy uppy's with the football. Really? Yawnsville, Arizona. And the waterfall that everyone keeps yapping on about. It may have looked pretty but added nothing to the act aside from making everyone wet. WOW! With the two shows on a Sunday generating £1M+ in ticket sales, i couldn't help feeling that i'd been ripped off. Very Mediocre indeed, and won't be rushing back to CDS.

I've been to a handful or so Cirque du Soleil shows and was tiring of them really but for me they've recovered with Luzia. It doesn't have a story as such and is just sort of inspired by Mexican culture but that's fine. I think Cirque shows are always overpriced and I wouldn't pay full price for a seat but I have to say Luzia is longer than usual so better value for money in that sense. The second half is better than the first half. I thought the straps act with the jaguar was excellent as was the Russian swing act. I see some reviewers were unimpressed by the waterfall but I actually liked it a lot myself. The football act had zero interest for me. There was too much clown "padding" but it seemed they needed it to clear and set up the stage. The way they cleaned up all the water so quickly was impressive. I'll be looking out for their next show anyway. The Royal Albert Hall is always a great venue to go to. The staff were very friendly when checking bags and "telling people off". The only thing that surprised me was that you were allowed to take photos during the show. I've never been to a show at RAH where this has been allowed. I was sat next to someone who was doing it constantly and it was a bit distracting.

I have always wanted to visit the Royal Albert Hall, but never managed to do so on my previous London trips. This time around, we had the perfect opportunity to catch a worldclass show that would appeal to both my daughter and us. Since we were in town and we had always enjoyed Cirque de Soleil shows on TV, I decided to splash out on some expensive tickets to catch the show. The venue being the Royal Albert Hall made the show even more attractive to us.

Royal Albert Hall is rather grand and the Cirque du Soleil Luzia show was pretty good, but slightly underwhelming. Although, one cannot fault the amazing acrobatics, puppetry, stage design, costumes and general razmatazz, the storyline lacked cohesiveness. It seemed that different sketches had been jumbled up to make the story. There were moments of sheer beauty when the ladies glided around smoothly in between large hoops, or the physical strength of the acrobats arms, as they dangled high up, balancing themselves. The large puppets used, the water pool etc made the show quite magical. The comic elements made everyone laugh too. However, the stunts carried out by the acrobats lacked the kind of danger I associated with Cirque du Soleil shows. We weren't gasping with amazement, let's put it that way.

There were plenty of empty seats around, since we saw the show in February and I couldn't understand, why the tickets could not have been cheaper. However, not everything in life can be counted in terms of money, so I am quite happy that we watched a world famous show at the Royal Albert Hall with my family.

Magnificent building. One of my favourite. About 5-10 minute walk from either South Kensington or Gloucester Road tube station. I love the Loggia boxes or lower seats at front or slightly to the side of the stage. Spend the money and get a good ticket. You can buy alcohol at the bar and take into the show but it is ridiculously expensive. £14.50 for a glass of champagne. January is my favourite month because Cirque du Soleil is always in town. Also love the Proms and also Christmas Spectacular in December. It’s a warm, intimate building. Generally reasonable temperature inside. Not too hot nor too cold. Just find a reason to go.

Just returned home from our weekend trip to London and the Royal Albert Hall to see the massed bands of the Royal Marines at MFM which is now becoming an annual tradition for our family.
A fabulous venue for yet another amazing concert by the best military band in the world.
Easy access once inside, knowledgeable and helpful staff and comfortable seating in the auditorium with great views of the stage from our seats in the stalls. Bar prices can be a little expensive for us northerners and the toilets were quite a long walk away from our seats but otherwise it was a wonderful evenings music and still a great experience even though we’ve been many times before.
Looking forward to returning again next year for MFM.

Have to give a mention to the absolutely brilliant and moving standing ovation given to Prince Harry and Meghan both at the start and the end of the concert on Saturday night.

Been to ever show to watch cirque du soleil and again this place always leaves me in awe how it can seat 5,400 people.
Seats are comfortable and place is clean but I always leave annoyed that everything is so damn expensive, £10 for a warm can of coke and a flat pint. £4.50 for a mouthful of ice cream etc etc this always leaves a bad taste in my mouth after a pleasant show

Great venue, I doubt there is a bad seat in the house.
Make sure you look at the ceiling and check out those magical sound mushrooms.

Seats are a bit snug if you are a bit bigger and the food and drink prices were a bit expensive.

Now I know that anyone will say “read the terms and conditions of your ticket” but we live in unprecedented times. I booked tickets to see Steve Martin and Martin Short’s show scheduled for last year and it was inevitably rescheduled due to COVID. Since then, it has been cancelled and refunds have been issued. I bought 4 tickets for my Father’s birthday and was pretty appalled to see they’d deduced £39 from the refund for “booking fees”.

Given it was not myself who chose to cancel and they were unable to convince them to come back in the future, it’s left a sour taste in the mouth that they will still make revenue from this whilst honest fans like ourselves lose out.

Almost £10 per ticket for booking fees when you’re buying 4 at once in itself is extortionate. In essence, you can argue I should look at the terms as I mentioned, but what they’ve done is essentially suggest my hard earned money is better in their pockets than mine which is unacceptable. We’ve all had a tough 18 months so I don’t see why they should expect people to be happy about this.

Be careful when booking tickets with organisations like this during COVID, their after sale service is appalling and zero apology was given let alone a proper refund!

My son invited me to the Royal Albert Hall to see Luzia. I have seen some of the Cirque du Soleil before but this one was the best. We also had fantastic tickets the 2 front seats in a Box on the second Tier. This theatre is very lovely it can hold an audience of over 5200 and is a splendid place. I have been quite a few times even in a box but this time I could see the beauty of the Place. We even had a hostess where one could order food
and drinks. The performance was not only acrobatics but also was very entertaining with comedy, music and singing as well as a lot of water on stage. One does not know where to look as it is all so very interesting. I can only highly recommend this show as well as the Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert hall is rich in history of the royals and of the many wonderful entertainers, orchestras, shows, ballets - everything you can imagine - that have performed here. Circus de Soliel was in the process of setting up for their 2 month run here while we toured the building. We spent a delightful hour with Tony as our guide showing us around and telling us stories. It was entertaining and informative. Definitely worth a visit while you are in London
