From an artistic and cultural point of view, this place is very significant. It's a small museum and not all of the building is open to the public, but what is here gives a good overview of the life and times of the artist. The...More

Hogarth's House is still being renovated and the upper floor was out of bounds when we visited but there was an interesting exhibition of seldom seen engravings from the archive store which made the visit worthwhile. The detail of the engraving and the (often political)...More

This has been on my list of 'to visit' places for some time and was reminded of this when I visited the Foundling Museum recently. But while I got a warm welcome from the pleasant attendant, the few rooms open to the public were a...More

This is an interesting house, but much smaller than it looks for two reasons. Firstly, it is only one room deep, ie about 12 feet, with all the windows facing the front. Secondly, at present the upper floor is out of bounds for safety reasons,...More

Under renovation but still a really enjoyable experience. The young lady receiving guests to the house was incredibly helpful. She explained the funding and forthcoming renovation really well. The etchings and engravings were amazing. What a man!! An amazing draftsman - skillful, perceptive, and very...More

We had wanted to visit here for a long time and finally did. The upstairs was closed and there was virtually nothing to see downstairs. There are virtually no Hogarth items to see. The garden was a total mess - it had more in common...More

At time of writing there's still no access to the upper floors and the garden is a mess due to renovation. The website sort of mentions this, but in conjunction with an announcement about a previous 'temporary closure' of the house back in February so...More

I have passed the sign to Hogarth's house many times over the years but I should have read TripAdvisor before finally visiting as I was disappointed, as the upstairs was closed and what was on show did not greatly impress or educate me about Hogarth...More

I love Hogarth House and have come since its renovation. You can combine a visit here with nearby Chiswick House and the Fullers Brewery (book ahead for tours but the shop is great too) and maybe a walk along the River Thames or a shopping...More

Worth stopping by the Hogarth's House and understand it's history, from its very 1st owner until it became a public house to visit. The work of Hogarth is on display and offers a great overview of the British society at that time. It's always 'something'...More
