Came here last year as part of a small private group. Our guide gave us an excellent tour of this most interesting and well-kept space. Some of the mausolea here are monumental. I have never seen so many in such good condition. There is much 'Gothic Revival' architecture here, plus wonderful examples of the Neoclassical, especially in the Greek Orthodox... More

Lovely place, very peaceful. If you are going to the crematorium, it's either a nice stroll or a drudge in the heat. Car parking is available (well, on the road) if you wish.

Attending a family cremation sadly, but was relieved to find it was so close to West Norwood station. Fair walk to the crematorium, up a hill. Secuirty office as you enter happily gave directions when i told him the name of the family funeral.

This cemetery was founded in 1836 and is part of the "magnificent 7" in London. It totally deserves to be described as "magnificent" as it truly is a wonderful green leafy calming place.Pick a sunny day and take your time walking around....then go up the street for a drink at The Great Northwood pub (nice beer garden) or a coffee at... A very interesting and beautiful place, especially on a fine day. There are usually people there to help you and they are very knowledgable about the cemetery. There are quite a few famous people buried there. Some amazing monuments and tombs!

West Norwood Cemetery needs to be celebrated, but I feel it is underrated. With known friends and famous people buried there, more publicity should be showered on this lovely cemetery. Wonderful gates lead you to an area of mystery that you can not fail to be impressed with.

A visit to West Norwood Cemetery, one of London's 'Magnificent Seven', makes your spirits soar to the heavens, rather like those of the departed whose remains are interred here. Leaving the busy street behind, you enter the ornate gates into an oasis of calm, where you are greeted by grand mausolea, columned tombs, soaring obelisks and other Victorian monuments dedicated... It's a little gem of a cemetery, so many stores to explore and look at, give yourself the best part of an hour to look at the whole thing, then head to blackbird bakery or cul de sac for refreshments, or if you want something bigger, 10 mins up knights hill has the best fish and chips shop ( the...
