Once the West End's most salubrious cottage, supposedly the haunt of Wilde, Orton, Gielgud & Crisp, CellarDoor is now London's cult cabaret bar, secreted beneath the Aldwych in a space just big enough for cats (both feline and human) to swing. We're open until 1AM seven nights a week with free acts from 9PM each evening including drag queens, femme fatales, magicians, crooners, burlesque beauties & more.

Popped in here after eating nearby. We literally stumbled on this little hidden gem. Good music, surprising impromptu burlesque show we had no idea this place was so quirky. We danced all night. Definitely one to try. I will be back.

I brought a ticket to guarantee me entry before 8:00,but I arrived at 7:00 on a Saturday night and walked straight in. Very small but fun for a couple of cocktails before you really begin your night

Want somewhere different to drink ? Then try this former toilet, converted to a cocktail bar. If your not paying attention you can walk right on by. At 0 Strand, the giveaway is the ornate glass entry. Walk down the stairs to a hidden gem. Decorated with mirrors it seems much bigger than it really is - perhaps its a... More

My husband and I came here with friends a few years ago and we remember it being a really enjoyable, authentic and different place to be. So for my husband's birthday a few weeks back, we popped in on a whim and it is still the same amazing place, with friendly staff and a brilliant selection of cocktails to chose... More

For a post-theatre drink in an unexpected location, you could do a lot worse than former public loo CellarDoor. Especially welcome was the wide age range of the crowd on the night we visited: people from their 20s - 80s all enjoying Holly Penfield's dulcet tones and flirty nature.

Cellardoor is a hidden gem right by the Strand and just a short distance from Covent Garden. I booked my entry before arriving on their website which included a glass of bubbly. We also received complimentary popcorn on our table. I loved the cocktails as they were quirky & very tasty, I like the breakfast martini served in the teacup!... More

We stumbled upon the entrance to The Cellar Door walking back to our hotel to settle in for the night - 5 hours later we made it! Intimate seating in traditional cabaret style, we honestly weren't sure what to think but after our first cocktail - twists on traditionals from an extremely talented bartender, I was hooked. I am amazed... More

Visited this little jewel of a club on Tuesday to see the inimitable Pete Saunders and Bow Peep deliver their witty, teasing act, with Miss B P's ironic portrayal of a kind of suburban sexual heaven, and lightning response to the audience complemented by Pete's driving keyboard, always musical, sometimes wry, never anything but exciting.
