There can be no other theatre in the world which has two such distinct and diverse claims to fame as the Aldwych.During the period from 1925 until 1933 the theatre housed a series of farces by Ben Travers which have gone down in history as 'The Aldwych Farces'. They included such familiar titles as A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook, Thark, Plunder and A Cup of Kindness. Nearly 30 years later, on 15 December 1960, the Royal Shakespeare Company took over the Aldwych as its London base.During the next 21 years, prior to the company moving to its theatre in the Barbican, history was frequently made. The Aldwych is currently the residence for the Olivier & Tony award winning Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

The Aldwych is a lovely but aging theatre. We were in row F in the stalls and I found the legroom insufficient and the seats a bit uncomfortable. I really think all theatres must refurbish as needed to accommodate the larger and taller person these...More

Missed seeing the real Tina on stage by one night but hey ho. Overall a great show. There were lots of dark awkward moments with a few scenes that needn’t have been there but the brilliant music made up for this. The leading lady playing...More

Great show of Tina. The theatre was lovely. Staff were polite. Row L in the dress circle had slightly less leg room than the row in front and restricted view with the balcony overhang.

What a great show, Jenny Fitzpatrick as Tina could not have been better, along with the rest of the cast. Show lasts 2 3/4 hours.

Jenny Fitzpatrick is phenomenal as Tina Turner. The story is well written, but Jenny’s performance outshines everyone. What a great all round performer! She puts her heart & soul into every word and every song. She is destined for great things. A True superstar !...More

We went to the Saturday matinee and initially I was disappointed to see we had the alternate Tina rather than the main lead, but Jenny Fitzpatrick was superb. In many ways I cannot imagine it could be any better seeing Tina Turner herself. There were...More
