The London Dungeon, one of the UK’s most iconic attractions, has reinvented itself now as a bigger, bolder and better attraction in the vast underground vaults of County Hall on the South Bank, next to the EDF Energy London Eye. The all new multi-million pound attraction will bring 1000 years of authentic London history to life with a unique mix of talented live actors performing in scarily funny shows, stunning special effects, edge of your seat surprises and two exciting thrill rides. Guests will embark on a journey through a dramatic London landscape going back ten centuries. They will be guided through ghastly plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ dramatic plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s bleak Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s foreboding medieval gates. There are new shows and rides which are more dramatic and surprising than ever, new funnier scripts, more theatrical costumes and styling and more talented actors to play even more colourful villains and blaggards.

Great attraction, not far from the London Eye and Shrek's Adventure ( more interesting to buy a combined ticket ). Great actors and settings, funny moments and a funny way to learn more about London's history. Need to understand English quite well, no translation or audio-guides : we're French,it was OK for me because I'm an English teacher, but a... More

Well worth a visit if you have a combi ticket, otherwise it is rather expensive. It was a good way of learning some history. Not as scary as I thought it would be ( thank goodness!) Had to wait in a "holding corridor" for quite a while, until they had enough people to continue the tour.

A nice trip along the old London histories. Warning to those who don't speak English well, just skip this. I speak English well but I only understand like 70% of the contents because of the fast English accents. Anyway, it's not really that frightening though..

Had so much fun here on Saturday with my friends, we came at the right time and had previously booked tickets so we didn't have long to wait. It was very interesting learning the history of it all.

Came in December thought it was very good so decided to visit again this past Sunday . Still good but felt more rushed and quite a few of the main parts were broken so missed some of the "best bits" and the atmosphere struggled with the technical disruptions. If everything is working it is well worth doing.

If you are looking for an upscale carnival ride, this is for you. If you are looking for a fun and casual historical account of some English history in a fun setting suitable for young children, skip this tour. We took our children (10 & 12) to London for the first time and thought this would be a fun and... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
