Address
Neighbourhood: Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.

The perfect place to pick up an item for a special occasion or a special treat. The store was crowded during my visit & very stuffy, meaning I didn't complete browsing across all of the floors unfortunately.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 October 2023

Have a high-tea in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon you will not be disappointed! And of course shop their teas, tea-ware, hampers, chocolates etc!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 October 2023
- Amanda BSouthampton, United Kingdom161 contributionsFIELD by Fortnum’s - Lunch 🤩Fortnums is quintessentially English, and not just for the tea. If you can get past tourists with your sanity intact a treat awaits you. We’d quizzed a shop floor assistant before deciding to abandon the usual preference, ‘The Parlour’, which incidentally is fabulous for breakfast for ‘The Field’. Its Seasonal menu on offer had plenty of choice. There’s a set menu offer, we’re really glad we didn’t go down that route as for a pre-theatre lunch you need filling but light. Grilled courgette with Peas & Beetroot Risotto (we swapped plates 😁) both absolutely delicious, enjoyed with a glass of Sauvignon. The team at The Field are discreet, efficient & charming. Will return for lunch and keep The Parlour for breakfast and brunch.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 October 2023
- juliasmith197211 contributionsLovely experience, great for intolerances.Thank you fortnum and masons, a lovely afternoon tea. As someone with several food intolerances I was dubious about having an afternoon tea. But after some emails with the team, truly lovely experience. Made me feel like having those intolerances was no issue at all. Thank you thank you.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 October 2023
- mikeNewquay, United Kingdom8 contributionsExcellent experience !My wife & I visited on Friday 3rd November with our cockerpoo, Bailey. We asked Chris on the side door whether we could go in with Bailey and he very kindly & gently advised us that only registered service dogs were allowed in, so we agreed that my wife would browse/shop inside and Bailey & I spent a very enjoyable half hour or so chatting outside with Chris, whilst he also provided other customers with responses to queries they had. I have to say that Chris is a credit to F&M and is a superb ambassador for the store and I would like to think that my comments would be passed onto him along with a proverbial ‘pat on the back’ for the way he represents Fortnum & Mason ! ps. my wife had a similarly excellent experience in the store, so all in all, our visit couldn’t have gone any better - 5 stars all round !Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 November 2023

- Selina E6 contributionsLovely shop, but very busy.I've always wanted to visit Fortnum and Mason. The shop itself was spectacular and the service was very good. We loved the displays and the Christmas puddings in the middle of the shop. Unfortunately, when we visited, it was very busy, and we were knocked about a fair bit by other shoppers. Especially on the ground floor level. The service at the tills was very good, and we'll hopefully visit again when it's not so busy.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 November 2023
- Clare W136 contributionsWonderful Afternoon TeaFortnum and Mason deliver outstanding Afternoon Tea. Went for my partners belated birthday and he was blown away by the service and attention to detail. Had requested the main tea room which they happily obliged. Very helpful waiters, excellent choice of sandwiches which you were able to request more. Patisseries were amazing as were the scones. We enjoyed a glass of champagne and prosecco. This is truly the way to do Afternoon Tea.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 November 2023
- D ReillyWest Chester, Pennsylvania33 contributionsLovely teaLovely, decorated, and absolutely packed with people. We made reservations for tea months ago and went last week. We were unprepared for the sheer volume of people! Tea was delicious and the service was nice but it was not as intimate and special as we expected…picture tea in Disney World! We did not make any other purchases as the queues were massive. Think it was good to do once and maybe we will come back when it’s NOT Christmas.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 December 2023

I would like to say that for 170 pound in 2 people I want a 5 star service. People atmosphere and service inadequate to the price. They were in delay after reservation and after a bad explanation and poor suggestion form the waiters we take the High Tea selection ( same price of the other options ). Food was not well cooked and very poor quality, tasting not good. Also the tea was not perfect and served bad. Was tosted and tasting too strong , jasmine tea is not like that. At the end I strongly not recommend to waste your money for something IS NOT VALUE for MONEY. Also the people there were not well dressed ....much different on what they try to marketing .

Don't go here before Christmas. We ended up not buying anything because there were too many people and the stuff is overpriced. We had lunch in The Parlour. The girl that was getting us a table was very arrogant, unfriendly and I think she needed reminding that she was serving us. She treated us like we were an inconvenience. The food is very overpriced and it was very basic. For the price, you would expect a lot better. The food at Starbucks is better! My girls ordered an icecream sundae and the menu made it sound fancy but it was basically a few small scoops of ice-cream with toppings that you had to pay extra for. Don't waste you time, the restaurant needs to review what they are serving and update.

A completely average experience at above average prices. You would think that you would have a 4-5 star experience at Fortnum and Mason given they are known for tea, and the prices they charge, but the tea was just…fine. Here are my observations from a trip with my husband – a lovely pianist was playing as we entered and we were seated pretty close to our reservation time (give or take about 10 minutes). The first thing we noticed upon sitting down was that all the gold was chipped off every single dish on our table. Fortnum and Mason has this beautiful light blue and gold décor, with matching china, but all of the gold edging was scratched off. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and given our menus and both chose the afternoon tea choice, and my husband asked for the “tea sampling” option – which was listed at an additional 12.95 I believe (not sure because we never received it). The waitress did note that this option was not always available if the person is not around, but she never told us that it would not be available. Our tower of snacks arrived before the tea (one would have thought the other way around), and there was a nice variety of finger sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Then, our respective pots of tea arrived and the first cups were poured for us. They were slightly under brewed, but had the loose tea leafs still in the pot. I can not understand how a place that is known for their teas leaves a pot of tea with the leaves still in them, given that your second cup (and any subsequent cups) end up being very over brewed. The sandwiches and scones were good, the sweets were just fine – but nothing terribly interesting or mind blowing. Service was good with just enough attention. Overall, if you are the kind of person that wants to pay for a brand name experience, this is obviously one of the two or three places to go in London. But absolutely nothing about it reached the levels I would have expected from a place with such great reviews and known for its tea.

I visited here with my mother for her 60th birthday and was deeply disappointed at the afternoon tea experience on the whole.
First of all, I had mentioned when booking that it was my mother’s birthday but the waiter was completely unaware and said that it hadn’t flagged up on the system. The whole afternoon tea was rushed, our tea pot was never offered to be refilled. It was so noisy we could not even hear eachother talk at a normal level.
We asked for an alternative sandwich to one that we did not like, the waiter assured us he would bring an alternative, which never came. The sandwiches we had were so dry, they had most definatley been refrigerated and were not freshly made. The bread was certainly not fresh from that day.
Luckily I had bought with me a 60 cake topper and the waiter returned with a piece of battenberg attached with a broken off piece of sponge. A child could have made a better effort, it was embarrassing.
The restaurant is completely over staffed and no one really showed any etiquette or personality.
Generally, the experience on the whole was clearly not pleasant. It wasn’t relaxing and it was not the usual afternoon tea experience that we have had at The Ritz, The Dorchester, The Savoy etc who have all been wonderful.
It is absolutley clear that fortnums just want to seat as many heads as possible and have forgotten that the afternoon tea experience on the whole should be one that’s relaxing and a treat and not just about them making as much money as possible.
We are regulars at The Gallery and always enjoy the food and service there, we are just so disappointed that we chose to come to fortnums for such a special occasion to be so disappointed.

This place never ever fails to please, The staff from the Door to All Departments are so so welcoming. We came with family from the North and they were Believe it or Not intimidated at the fact that this store is like 5 star and thought they would be treated like 3rd class, This was not the case all the staff in this store from The wine Cellar Bar to the Ice Creme Parlour made you feel welcome Smiled and we're totally professional. So Much So we as a group spent over £1100 pounds on wine, chocolate, perfume, hand lotion,, You name it we bought it lol. This store makes you feel like you can stay in there all day. It's totally Amazing. Totally love it and when you leave it, Having spent lots of cash you feel rewarded... Fantastic Store, Great Customer Service, Great Experience.

Perfect afternoon tea!
Came for afternoon tea for my birthday and am already planning to go again. The service was incredible, the setting was stunning and the food was just divine!
We weren't too sure what to order and wanted to make the most of their Tea for Two offer (which is an amazing offer btw... two afternoon teas for the price of one. Definitely recommend!). The waitress serving us suggested we get a traditional afternoon tea and a savoury afternoon tea so we had a wider variety of food to choose from. Best suggestion of the day!
The food is next level. It looks small and you're able to order as many sandwiches, cakes and savouries as you like, but let me tell you it is filling! It's hard to decide which treat I liked most. Of course the tea was amazing too and a glass of champagne added was a nice touch.
The service was on another level, as you'd expect. We were never left waiting to be served, everyone was very friendly and courteous. One of the waiters told us they had 400 covers that day, so I'm even more impressed with how attentive everyone was and how well we were treated. Not a single aspect of the trip can be faulted.
I'd highly recommend going for afternoon tea if you're looking for a traditional tea. Especially if you can snag this amazing offer!

We went for afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason, what a treat! We were greeted by a very professional staff. The menu was explained as there are a lot of options. Recommend you select different options, for example high tea, afternoon tea, vegetarian, etc. As you can imagine there are also several different teas, nice descriptions of each are provided, so easy to select. The biscuits, sandwiches and sweets were all delicious. Additionally, they will replenish the tea and food items. The items that were left over were boxed up. The wait staff is beyond professional and there is one individual who needs special recognition, Jose. Jose absolutely loves what he does and it shows. He spends time actually getting to know the customers, he is in a word terrific! When going to London, afternoon tea is a must and Fortum & Mason is the place to go.

A few months back I purchased a few different boxes of Fortnum & Mason's chocolates to see how they compared to other premium brands. What can I say? The first chcolate I had from the 'Milk Chocolate' selection tasted like something out of a Quality Street box, although there were a couple of good ones in there, and by good I'm only talking marginally better quality than 'Hotel Chocolat' - which is hardly worth it when these work out to almost £2 per tiny piece. And make no mistake they are tiny, my first shock was at the miniscule size of the boxes!
The Caramels selection box and the Pralines & Ganache box were a tad better but still nothing to write home about. Far too sweet, nothing refined about these whatsoever, literally all you're paying for is the admittedly stunning boxes they're presented in, and of course the F&M brand 'name'. No wonder I can scarcely find a single review about these chocolates online. If you want to try good chocolate, try Paul Young, Maison du chocolat or as I just recently discovered and loved - Rococo. All similarly priced to F&M but fantastic quality and taste.

Every year we go to London for a weekend on the run up to Christmas. Having visited Fortnums in 2018 we decided that we would go back in 2019. We booked Afternoon tea 3 months in advance as a treat for my wife’s birthday and looked forward to it.
On arrival we were brought into a rear room and myself, my wife and my daughter (9 yo) were seated next to a table of 12. This table was so loud that I couldn’t hear my wife talking to me from across the table
We shared a server with this table and as a result her time was monopolised by them. This resulted in cold tea and cold hot chocolate for my daughter which was sent back and reordered the replacements were also cold which I can only assume was cold again because it was sitting somewhere waiting to be served to us. We repeatedly had to ask for our food which finally arrived but no hot tea which arrived as we finished our food and it was indeed....cold
I just wanted to get out of there and we paid over £180 for the privilege.
The following day I got a request for a review from Fortnums to which I responded warts and all. They contacted me and I told them what happened, I was told the somebody would respond to my complaint. Nobody responded, I contacted them and the again said that somebody would contact me. I’m still waiting.
I can only assume that our custom is not important to them as it is only once a year. They have now lost this customer. We will go elsewhere next December.

I visited the Fortnum & Mason Jubilee Tea Room on 9th July 2021, I visited after a recommendation from a friend, however I was very disappointed with their service and quality of food.
Over the years, I have been to several high tea’s in London within the same price bracket as Fortnum & Mason, however this has to be by far the worst experience.
I had asked specifically for a halal afternoon tea, upon arrival I was advised that it would be best that I choose the finger sandwiches option as they could not cater for halal.
The finger sandwiches were soggy and the presentation was poor.
The tea which was served was cold and the waitress did not even bother explaining what the tea was, she just plonked the two pots down on the table.
However the worst part of the afternoon was that after returning from the washroom, I found that the table I was seated on had been cleared. We hadn’t even paid for the afternoon tea and had to go to the reception desk to make payment.
To make the situation worse, we had unfinished scones and cakes. My friend also left her napkin on the chair, which clearly should indicate to the staff that we will be returning to the table. The staff completely ignored this and chose to clean the table.
I am aware that the table is booked for 1 hour and 45 minutes, however our booking was for 1.15pm, we were forced to leave at 2.40pm due to the incompetency of the staff.
I would not visit again and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone else.
You are better off visiting other high tea’s in London within in the same price bracket where you will receive excellent service and food

Yes , eat all you like. They will offer to bring you more of any of the treats that you need more of. But, they are so rich you probably won't need to. The food is fantastic and the teas are outstanding. A delightful way to spend an afternoon.

Thank you in advance.
Si nos estamos cuidando en la alimentación podemos compartir el menú del Five Tea O'clock y agregarle un té solo, aparte?
Muchas gracias.
