I have visited this gallery many times over the years. The building is worth visiting just for itself. I love it here. I came for a quick day trip to see the Hockney exhibition which was well worth the effort and I shall remember the...More

Just managed to catch the Hockney Exhibition before it finishes at the end of this month. The Tate have done a great job in capturing the essence and progression of Hockney's work, getting together a full range of his pieces. The final rooms demonstrate his...More

A much bigger museum than it appears from outside. A bit of a rabbits warren, but full of interesting things to look at. I thought the Hockney was overpriced, but brilliantly curated. The rest is free and definitely worth it.

The brilliant Tate Britain has put on a DAvid Hockney exhibition of work throughout his career. Some of his work is basic, but his later work in the states is sensational . What is so surprising is the size of his portraits, his charcoal drawings...More

It has been several years since my last is it to the Tate Britain and I shall make sure not to leave it so long again - in fact, I saw both the Hockney And the Queer Art exhibitions in one visit with a tea...More

Great paintings and not so crowded as National Gallery. Only English paintings though - manage your expectations. Do not miss upper floors - there are some treasures to see.

This current exhibition shows the work of David Hockney from the 60's to the present. It is fascinating to see the progression and how he has embraced technology to produce recent work.

A great place, the Andy Worhol is about to close, however there is so much to see that is free, plus the building is not bad either, there is a boat from here to the Tate Modern.

Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than
most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely
residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames,
is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle
architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art
lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class
Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art

I wouldn't let the thought of having timed tickets put you off, quite the reverse in fact. The queues aren't too long and the timed visiting means that you have time to take it all in.
