Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.

The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

The Phantom of the Opera, London, performance is a not to be missed part of the London theatre scene. So much of the music is so memorable and Her Majesty's Theatre is also interesting.

I am visiting the "Phantom of the Opera" every single year and still in love with it. Every visitor to London must attend the musical, otherwise you will miss it big time. Amazing..

I got cheap seats right at the top so visibility was poorer than I would have liked but still one of the most wonderful operas. Brilliant production

I'd put up with the cramped leg room again just to hear the girl that played Christine sing. Hairs on the back of your neck standing up good, loved her. The rest of the cast were also great and having been converted into a phantom fan overnight, I downloaded the album of the original cast (was that the one with... More

I have seen many productions in both London and New York. I enjoyed Phantom of the opera but not being a massive opera fan I really couldn't get in to it as much as other shows. The cast were great and the staging amazing. Go and see it but make sure you actually like opera or at least like the... More

Great to see, it is amazing, seats did have restricted view and knew that when booking and have found generally that this isn't a problem, it was a little restricted but people in front kept moving forward which didn't help, but a definite big up! Hats off to the cast what voices!!!!

Saw it when on tour in Leeds and having waited for it to tour again without success, decided to go to its home at Her Majestys theatre. It's a must see experience. Our seats in row E were excellent, the close up view of the whole show, cast and effects well worth the price. You truly do get what you... More

After years of longing to see Phantom of the Opera I finally realised my dream and I was not disappointed. The special effects were superb and the lead actors phenomenal. The sets too were fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to see the show again tomorrow and I'm not ashamed to say I cried at the final scenes and the emotion the... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
