Be aware of SOHO if you ever decide to visit. Thief is everywhere. Stay away from SOHO and there are many places to visit in London.

Soho has changed beyond recognition. Gone it’s seedy last giving way to a fresh, vibrant look more in keeping with modern day London.

It is recommended to be visited , it is very nice cosy area with lots of cafe and restaurants most of them international restaurants. I love it and it is improving from time to time.

I don't think there are any shops that sell dates, the dried fruit you are talking about I guess?! I would suggest finding a Holland and Barrett health food store or large supermarket.
