The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Come here for the beer! Not the decor! Bit like an old Volvo, boxy but good. Good choice of well poured beer. Pizza looks interesting but didn’t try it so can’t review. Worth a visit if you like craft.

Dropped in here for a couple of wets before going back home. Good choice. A fair selection of draught and keg beers, friendly staff and NO piped music. Beer at a reasonable price as well.

A few weeks ago I emailed to reserve an area in there for my friend’s birthday from 3:00-6:30. They replied to say that was fine. Yesterday I emailed to confirm and was ignored. Today, at 1:30, I popped my head in to say we were going to play golf but would be along in 2 hours. They said that was fine. When we arrived 2 hours later, they had given the tables away and removed the signs. At first, the manager was angry with the barman ‘Marcus’, “why did you remove them??”
“I thought they were already here!” he replied. However, they then decided to change tact and blame us, saying we were 30 minutes late despite me telling them earlier that we would be?! Marcus said, “Whatever!” And walked away. Horrendous attitude for someone who had made a pretty rubbish customer service error. I asked him to, and I quote, “Please fix it”. Wow!

The manager then again changed tact and seeing we were upset and after hearing that I would complain, decided to THEN ask people to move (why couldn’t she do this in the first place?) My friend asked for a round of drinks to appease and she said, “Fine but I’m not happy about it”. Wow!

All in all, pretty appalled. Fortunately for us, Wetherspoons down the road were more than happy to seat us in an area and take our £150+ of money that this company had thrown away. Go there instead.

Loads of choice, bound to find one that suits your taste.

Staff were great, providing advice if required.

Setting’s pretty retro/cool too.

If you stay for sometime you may need a loan, so check the price first.

We will be back!!

Decent range of beers but nothing to get that excited about, popular place though if a little soulless. Wouldn’t rush back but if passing would stop by for one

Beer lovers dream bar!! Great selection of rotational taps and casks. Tons of bottles and cans, as well as a full bar and wine. Pizza menu....haven’t tried but it looks good.

The bar is always well staffed. No matter how busy they are you always get served in a timely manner. Staff is very knowledgeable about the beer in house and will let you sample everything.

Probs my fav beer bar in London!!

Ok, so the decor and atmosphere is reminiscent of a party in a portacabin, but lets face it, we're here for the beer.
Bartender was friendly and approachable, immediately on hand to help you pick one of the many beers on tap, and after a quick scan through I saw at least 5 I could immediately get on board with.
There are nicer bars in the area, but this is definitely worth a visit for the craft beer lover.
