Neighbourhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

- Ben WhiteNorthampton, United Kingdom3,228 contributions‘The inside was trendy and spacious with a well-stocked bar, comfy booths with excellent music.’After booking on a whim whilst on London, we were shocked that we managed to book a space for the two of us to have a cocktail and enjoy a round of golf. There were bouncers outside and it’s easy to locate on google maps. The inside was trendy and spacious with a well-stocked bar, comfy booths with excellent music. On the menu, there was the usual, basic cocktails you’d expect. But there were also their own signature own cocktails that I haven’t seen or tasted before, so that got a thumbs up from me! My personal favourite was the Squashie/Drumstick one. The only downside was the queue at the bar was consistently three deep, during our time there and we arrived at 15:30. Maybe they were short staffed or maybe because their menu is predominantly cocktails, they take longer to make. But we waited it out and got served within 20 minutes. The golf course is short, but I’m not sure if we opted for the smaller one or not. But the decorations and thought that went into creating the course was brilliant. The course isn’t too difficult, which was perfect for a novice like me, and you’re allowed bring your drinks around with you which is a bonus! And for £21 per person for an alcoholic cocktail and a round of golf, I think is very reasonably priced for London. Overall, an inexpensive way to kill and hour or two but wanted to spend the majority of the night here as the slow service would be off putting but the concept of combining alcohol and golf is a fun idea, we had a blast!Hey Ben, Thanks for the amazing and detailed 5-star review. It was fab to read you had a great visit with us and that you loved the cocktails too. They do take a little longer to make but hope you agree they are worth the wait. I can personally recommend the Bubblegum Sunset and the frozen Blue Raspberry drink for any future visits. - Annie BCardiff, United Kingdom30 contributionsBoozy birdies all round! My partner took me here as part of my birthday celebrations, and I am so glad he did! We played two rounds of golf on the Bozo and Pablo courses, and before, during and after our games, we enjoyed some amazing cocktails. Every member of staff we encountered (security, front of house, bar staff) made us feel very welcome, and they were so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The facilities themselves were kept very clean, and we loved the additions of a table at the start of every course for you to put your drinks down. The courses had amazing themes and decorations. I would definitely recommend visiting Junkyard Golf Club!Hey Annie! Happy Birthday! It's great to hear you had a fab time with us and had time to grab a few cocktails - I can recommend the Fizz Pop if you didn't try it this time. - CieLondon, United Kingdom55 contributionsSaturday pre-dinner activityThis wasn’t the best mini-golf I’ve been too but I didn’t go in expecting it. I went in for a fun activity that would keep us entertained before dinner with a few good drinks and it delivered on exactly that. The staff were all very friendly, and the checking in process very simple. They also kindly charged my phone for me and made me unlock it when returning it to prove it was mine which I really appreciated. The holes are small, but fun - and some thought has been put into making them all a bit different, however you complete them quite fast so definitely worth doing at least a couple. If you’re a couple and behind a group of 4, you might have a wait before each hole but there’s good music playing and access to a bar on the course so it’s not the worst wait…Hey! Thanks for taking the time to leave a great review. We really do appreciate it and so glad to hear your experience with us at our Shoreditch venue was a good one! Great staff who got us on course quickly, very original courses but the rave room on ‘Gary’ did one of the teenager’s head in a bit with the flashing lights etc. none the less it was good fun. There were 27 of us but the staff were really good at letting us know what size groups we should be going round the course in and the drinks were really good! Especially the cocktails! We stayed in the bar area after we finished our round of golf and it was such a good atmosphere! We’ll definitely be back!Hey! Thanks for taking the time to leave us this fab review! - 0gazza0London, United Kingdom202 contributionsCrazy and creative indoor golfWhat an absolutely awesome venue and a great find, close to Liv St stn. We went here in a late Friday afternoon and had a cool experience from start to finish. Door staff make you feel safe going in. And then bar staff were amazing, had a right good chat over the cocktails and they were asking about my day and helped take some photos for us. Cocktails are proper high quality.. had a first round of golf and enjoyed it so much we then went back and got a second round of drinks and a different course. Really well thought out and all the different routes are different and creative. They’ve thought it all through with break points to sit down. Places to take photos. And little floating tables for resting drinks while you play. The only reason I didn’t give 5* was because one member of staff was very rude, came over and demeaning to know why we were waiting the payment desk when we wanted to add and pay for a second round. Practically started an argument for no reason. And then he went and started to chat to the other bar staff whilst we ordered drinks (as if on purpose slowing them down). Tall black lad with glasses - really put us off staying for the third and final round. Would consider this venue for works party for sure as bound to create some laughs.Hey! Thanks for taking the time to leave such a fab review! It's great you found us and had a great time in the venue. I'm sorry to hear that one of the crew didn't deliver the best experience and I have passed this to the venue manager to investigate but it's great to hear it didn't spoil your visit. - CuteKittenStourport on Severn, United Kingdom277 contributionsGreat evening activity for smaller groupsReally enjoyed the course we chose to do the 90s themed course which included a slide, disco balls, old cars and a neon room at the end. It was a good time, not too crowded on the course with people, however, we did find it to be a bit difficult at times to play the shot as it was very compact from where you had to place the ball to stand to hit it there really wasn’t much room making it more difficult. The staff were friendly and the drinks weren’t too badly priced. We were told we could go down the slide as many times as we liked before moving on as long as there weren’t another group behind us. It was good for myself and my friend but I think you’d struggle with groups larger than 4 to have everyone be able to watch each other play.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 June 2024

Booked online note on website over 18's Fri to Sun after 7pm. Ok great. Booked for 13:50 on Saturday spent £15 on train tickets kids very excited.
Arrived and turned away on the door. What made this worse is that the managers are powerless to offer refunds or manage the venue. We were told it was because its a licenced bar. All pubs and restaurants have licences and do not have this issue.
We were then told we should have read the small print they offer no refunds, no phone number to call management, they said they do not have a number to call themselves. All they could offer was a card with an email of which they do not reply at weekends. The manager doesn't have the power to make any decisions regarding refunds.
It wasn't just us there were queues of families being turned away at least 4 whilst we were there. So we've just spent £60 on nothing. On consultation was to come back another day. Not possible. It was a grandparents treat and they were only there for the day.
The issue here is not the policy. Its the website. To run this type of system you have to have child and adult tickets. That way an adult must be over 18 and a child under. Then on the slots which are over 18 you block the child tickets. You cannot have endless legal clauses claiming if you didn't read the small print then tough. Simply get the policies right so this cannot happen.

9 holes for four people is around £40 and it’s over in 35 minutes. The course Gary starts off well but the last three holes are pretty boring - it’s like they ran out of ideas or space.
The worst tho was the poor attitude of staff on the cloakroom not to mention the cost. 3 bags a coat and umbrella for £9. £2 for the umbrella alone. On a wet day in winter there is no alternative and having paid what I think is a lot for 9 holes this is a bit of an insult to charge so much more. £1 would be fair for all items.
Not sure I would rush to return but it was good fun.

Hey Craig,
Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we're always looking at ways to improve and we can't do that without your feedback.
I'm sorry you had what sounds like a poor experience with us, that definitely isn't the service we aim to provide! So we can investigate this further, please can you email us at customerservice@junkyardgolfclub.co.uk with some additional info?
Despite this, I'm glad you still found us good fun! Duration of a course can take anywhere between 30 minutes for a smaller group on a quiet night to nearly an hour for larger groups on a busy night!
Hopefully you'll give us another chance and we'll see you again soon for round 2!

Probably the worst service I’ve ever had from a business. A staff member booked tickets for me online as if had issues with their website - I was taking my 17 y/o sister, under 18’s can only play before a certain time so Faye in the CS team booked this for 5:50pm on a Thursday for me. We turned up to their shoreditch Venue only to be told under 18’s can’t actually play on a Thursday. The manager came out and advised he would have someone get in touch from the customer services team and offer a refund etc.
I have chased this up via email 5 times and also on their live chat 4 times - each time a member of their CS team has promised a manager will be in touch by 4pm that day.
Still nothing, today i contacted them via chat again and was told this could have always been processed by a chat team member and was refunded then.
I can honestly say it’s some of the worst ‘back and forth’ service I’ve ever had and they have no way of calling/speaking to someone when your emails or messages go ignored. I ended up going to Plonk in Camden and can honestly say they’re amazing - would recommend going there instead.

This was my third visit (first during the pandemic, though). They offer half price tickets for BLC holders, which was a very nice treat for myself.
We arrived a couple of minutes late as we got the wrong tube, I'm not too sure what happened; we got the tube to Hackney but then found out 'Hackney Junkyard Golf' was a 55 minute walk away, so we had to get an Uber. We tried to ring them to let them know we'd be a couple of minutes late but they don't have a phone number on their website so there wasn't anything we could do.
We explained how we were a couple of minutes late, & apologised, & they were very accommodating & offered us some drinks before we started. This is where it did get a little bit confusing as the staff were advising us different things & it was very misleading. The member of staff on the door said we had 30 minutes to drink our drinks once they came to our table (so we ordered 2) but, after 10 minutes, a different member of staff said we had to start our golf game right now & that we weren't allowed to take our drinks with us. We felt intimidated here as our only options were to down our alcoholic drinks or bin them (& they aren't cheap).
Another issue we had was when my friend left her phone in the bathroom. We had just been given our golf clubs & balls & asked a member of staff if we could quickly go back to get the phone. He said it was all fine but then 2 security guards came storming into the toilets telling us we cannot leave with the golf clubs. We explained the situation & how we were told to look for the phone & keep the clubs with us but they continued to tell us off.
You do have to book you tickets but they often have same day availability. We booked 3 hours before our slot & then booked another one whilst we were there.
Changes in regards to Coronavirus;
You must wear a mask the whole way around the course but can take it off when seated at the bar/table, the photobooth is not open & you are not allowed to buy or drink your drinks around the course.

Such a disappointment! Not as described on their website at all.
I booked junkyard golf for myself and my friends for my 28th birthday, I chose the Dirk course as it was described as “house of horrors based in a 90’s rave” and this sounded great fun and right up my street.
When I arrived I was a little confused as it was like we were entering a nightclub rather than an entertainment golfing venue but we headed in through to the back where the golf ticket check in is, showed our ticket all fine however the music was so loud from the “club” that I could just about make out what the guy was saying, we then headed to the cloakroom as we didn’t want to carry all our coats and bags around however we very quickly changed our minds to check in all of our shopping bags (about 2 each) and coats as they charge an extortionate price of £2 per coat and £3 per bag! Now I realise this might not be much to some but when you have a group and the odd bit of shopping it soon adds up, a group locker for £5-£10 would be much more appropriate.
We then headed to the course, collected our clubs and balls, at this point I was very surprised that it was a tiny little course, very busy and no element of “90s rave” to be seen. The only music is that of the club and you can see all the other courses through wire mesh fencing. The holes were horror themed as expected but where the 90s rave element was I have no idea, personally I was expecting a separate room or section with 90s rave music playing and enough space to play a nice game with my friends. Instead I was greeted with a crowded, basic attempt of a theme and a rubbish experience. Due to the queues for each hole I felt rushed and pressured to putt as fast as we could rather than playing at our leisure, when I read the FAQs it said the experience takes 1-2 hours, we were in and out within 45 mins! I also read prior to attending that there would be tables where you can order a drink via a QR code, not once did I see this and to be honest I don’t see how it would be viable due to the business of the venue.
All in all I feel it was not at all what was described on the website and I am highly disappointed, will not be attending again!

I originally booked this for a Saturday in august but on the day my friend had forgotten their ID and we were refused entry at the door. I guess this can’t be helped but it was a shame and I was asked to email to re-book the tickets. Unfortunately, this could only be rebooked for an off peak day (sun - wed) so I rebooked for a Sunday. We completed the Dirk course which is 90s rave themed, you’re allowed to take your drinks from the bar through with you but it can be a bit of faff carrying them around alongside your bag and scorecard. It did feel a bit rushed as there are people right behind you waiting to go next so it was over within about 30 minutes but there are great photo opportunities: The staff inside are really friendly and a special mention to Michelle who advised that we could get a second game half price so we took advantage of this. We played the Gary course next which is scrapyard themed and has a slide! Luckily this course wasn’t as busy so we spent a lot more time playing and taking photos. All in all it was a good day and not too expensive for London. Would definitely recommend and go again!

We do make it clear that ID is required at the 'yard but we know that it's easy to forget and we've all been there before! We would really hate for anyone to miss out, this is why we offer a rebook on an off-peak day as a gesture of goodwill - so we're happy to hear we got you booked back in with us!
Overall it sounds like you had a fab time and we can't wait for you to join us again soon! Maybe give Bozo and Pablo a visit next time!?
Thank you!

I went with a few friends and the experience was just OK.
We enjoy crazy golf, so from that stand point the course was fun.
The drinks were tasty, but I do remember the bar staff being quite rude.
It was also quite crowded and disorganised on entry, but entry was relatively quick.
A mediocre experience to be completely honest.

Had an amazing time for my surprise lockdown birthday, only made better by coming here. What made it so good were the staff who went above and beyond to make sure I had a good night, especially the Irish staff member who I believe was called Connor but I could be wrong. He made sure we understood how everything worked and made sure we understood the cover rules as it was our first time going.

Upon arrival we went in and was barely greeted by the ticket host at reception, as it was our first time we expected them to explain how things work etc about how each course works rather than that we was told to go off and look ourselves which was a turn off, nether the less we booked a course and was told that we can stay in there for as long as possible but they failed to tell us that it was busy as we had so much people coming in and wanting to go on our course so it was just busy and we wasn’t able to enjoy or move around properly it was just chaos. After we finished we went to the bar to get a drink, what a big mistake that was none of the bar staff were customer friendly looked like they were forced to be there no smiles or conversations. They took so long to make drinks that customers were just walking off. The Bartender was making drinks and looking at the receipt to know how to mix and make the drinks. Ordered the Bubble Gum Sunset which was pure ice and watered down saw how she mixed the alcohol which she under poured.
Would not be returning nor would i recommend the place is a con.

Hey there,
Thank you for your feedback, i'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy our venue on this occasion and had many issues while being there. We have been super busy due to us getting closer to Christmas but this isn't an excuse for any of those things and will be looking into this.
We appreciate all the feed back we get from our customers and would never want them to leave feeling like they have had poor customer service from us.
We want you to know that we take all complaints seriously and I have passed your complaint over to the manager so they can look into this and ensure this does not happen again.
Thank you!

As a golf venue it was quite fun. Fairly compact - to be expected in central London - but some variety on the holes across the 18 we played. The 50% off deal for the second round gave better value for money, otherwise it would have felt a little on the expensive side. I went with colleagues and in a group of six it did take 30-40 minutes, but I can see how a couple could zip round quickly.
Where it let itself down, and why I wouldn't return was the awful bar experience. Firstly I was unable to open a tab and let my colleagues order their own drinks. Secondly it was very slow, painfully slow as I was the one having to order everything. Our server must have been new as everything took her a very long time, from the five cocktails someone ordered just before me (fair enough, this was unlucky), to these customer's prepaid card running out of credit and her not knowing what to do (so maybe there was some sort of tab option, but prepaid, really?). But I can forgive inexperience, but she had no urgency, dawdled between pouring drinks and offered no apology that I'd been waiting so long or when the beer ran out (not her fault, but another nail in the coffin).
We couldn't wait to get out of there and visit a pub round the corner for a better selection of drinks that were poured quickly and friendly, and we can take it in turns to buy a round. And the final insult was when I looked at the drinks reciepts days later (oh, these took sooo long to be provided too), and they were "gift receipts"! I have never before seen or needed a gift receipt in a bar, I don't know why they are provided and I have no idea after the fact how much the drinks were. All very annoying.

Hey John,
Thanks for taking the time to leave this review and I'm sorry to hear we missed the mark for your visit.
Firstly, I'm glad you enjoyed the golf with us and managed to make the most of our 50% off your second round offer!
In terms of a bar tab, they can only be set up in advance of your visit if your group is 12+ and you book through the Sales and Bookings team. I'm sorry this wasn't communicated with you during your visit as I can see why this would have been frustrating for you!
In terms of the service you received, this is really disappointing to hear and we would like to have a look in to this. We'd appreciate it if you could pop us an email at customerservice@junkyardgolfclub.co.uk with your booking details so we can find out what went wrong on our end and avoid this happening in the future. We can also send you a standard receipt (not a gift one) if you still need it!
Thanks again for taking the time to leave this feedback and we'll keep an eye out for an email from you!

The bozo course is good but that’s the only one we did but they all looked good and it’s definitely worth doing more than one because they don’t take long to do

Booked a course for 6pm on a Tuesday one player under 18 is that ok also what time would you suggest getting there
Written 20 June 2021
That’s fine, we didn’t get ID’d once there, they just won’t be allowed to buy the alcohol. I would suggest getting there 10 minutes before; I went last week & we were a few minutes late (we got lost) & it was fine but they offer you 30 minutes to have some drinks before your game, where we were late we didn’t have as long to drink them. The staff said the booking times didn’t matter too much, as long as the games were flowing.

Coming on the 22nd November for my 40th been told when I booked I would get 2 free drinks, from the lady I booked with.. just wanted to check is that any drinks??, Also how bars in the venue and does each course have a bar ?
Written 23 October 2019
Not too sure about the free drinks that don’t mean the lady you booked with can’t sort that out, there are plenty of bars plenty of drinks it’s a good night.

Hiya,
I was wondering if, before we visit, anyone has a price list/range for the cocktails and drinks? Thank you x

I agree with the previous answer. They are all good fun and you will probably want to do more than one anyway.
