A hidden gem. Tucked in behind the Empire theatre its no wonder it plays on the famous patrons who have sampled the local ale. There are photos of A list to Z list stars and everything in between. The pub is so much more than this though, it feels like a local. Cosy and welcoming. The Scouse is a must.

We visited after it was recommended as we were leaving the O2 Academy nearby. A lovely pub full of character, very friendly and a great atmosphere. We will make this a must visit when we next see a show in the theatres in Liverpool.

Ma Egerton's is a brilliant pub that offer's a superb drinks range and is without a doubt one of the best pub's in the city centre.This fantastic pub was built in 1846 and takes its name from Mary Egerton this pub's longest serving land lady. This fantastic pub has a theatrical themed interior with many picture's throughout the whole pubs interior relating to star's of the screen and from the theatre and there has been many famous stars who have been to here as the Empire theatre is in front of this superb pub. We visited here fairly early in the afternoon and it was very busy.When we went to here we had a few pint's of Moorhouse brewery beers which where brilliant and well priced considering the pub we were in.A fantastic pub in a fantastic area and so easy to find from Lime street train station its only a few steps away. Came here for the scouse to try for the very 1st time tonight, and wasn’t disppointed. Really friendly waitress who was running around the packed pub! Also the bar lady who served me was courteous and welcoming. But the male staff member wearing the Xmas jumper didn’t look like he wanted to be there and I received a few daggers (stares). Was having a good time until I went to get a drink and was waiting to be served and that same bloke decided he’d ignore me and serve a fella who just walked thru the door. So we left to spend our money elsewhere (lost a star for that), Great way to end two great days in Liverpool after coming all the way from the other side of the world PS don’t wear a Xmas shirt if you don’t have the Xmas spirit

Having just been in Liverpool Christmas Market for an hour or so ,had a beer and a hot wine there ,overpriced ,market looks good but it lacked the Christmas vibe ,playing 80's pop tunes ,very weird ,I can put up with the inflated prices but lack of atmosphere ,not acceptable so my twin brother and I saunted over to Ma Egerton's and the contrast was like night and day ,pub beautifully decked out for the Christmas period,staff happy to see you ,just a great vibe in here . We were here on a freezing cold Thursday December afternoon ,pub busy ,a quick study of their real ale's and we both opted to have a pale ale each from Moorhouse Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition ,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good ,a golden ,well balanced pale ale ,hints of caramel ,a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a delightful hoppy finish to it,a classic British pale ale indeed. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great home. Ma Egerton's Stage Door is easy to locate on Pudsey Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Cozy and vibrant little pub with great decor of past film and music stars. Food is made fresh, scouse and crusty bread £9 and delish. The staff are very welcoming . Big Thankyou to Marc for charging my phone and speedily serving us before we left for the theatre. Will definitely visit again

We booked a table for 6 before going to see Wicked. The food was fantastic. Drinks were reasonably priced. But a big shout out to the barman with the sliver jewellery. We absolutely loved him. Funny, helpful and an all round top bloke. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great place for a drink, we went after watching a show. Friendly atmosphere, locals were warm and welcoming along with the staff. Clean, great tasting beer at a good price point.
