RIBA Liverpool City Tours tell the story of Liverpool past, present and...

RIBA Liverpool City Tours tell the story of Liverpool past, present and future through the buildings and public spaces that make up the city. RIBA guides will lead a walking tour that puts the spotlight on key buildings and spaces that form part of the contemporary city landscape, its characters, its commerce and its culture. We offer four tours: 'Gateway to the World' (Sundays and Wednesdays), 'City of Culture, Learning & Faiths' (Saturdays), 'Sculpture, Culture & Civic Pride' (first and third Thursdays of the month) and 'The Ropewalks: Growth, Decline & Regeneration' (second and fourth Fridays of the month).

As a prebooked group of architects we had an extended tour, covering much of the downtown area of Liverpool which is full of architectural treasures. Our guide was full of both background personal information, bringing the characters of the city alive, as well as furnishing much architectural and commercial detail Highly recommended.

What a fabulous place Liverpool is! With more listed buildings than any other city apart from London, the visitor can easily become mesmerized by street after street of fantastic buildings. This excellent tour sets these buildings in their historical and social contexts as well as pointing out the juxtaposition of the old and new in the street scene, both Helen... More

On a sunny November Saturday morning, I was blessed by having two guides (Patricia and Catherine) all for myself! The tour was very informative and the guides showed me little details I would have certainly missed without their explanations. I think everyone visiting Liverpool should take this tour to get to know the history of the cit.

it took 2 hours to do the walk from one Cathedral to the other (less than 10 minutes in straight line). Our walk took us all around Hope street and it's adjoining roads with countless Georgian houses and other interesting buildings (a lot of which now belong to one or other of the Liverpool universities). Nice to amble and hear... More

The best way to discover the most vibrant part of the city. It is an architecture tour about the regeneration of the area, but it goes beyond a set of dates and architect names. A window to the way the area redeveloped and turned the former manufacturing area into residence, offices, hotels and restaurants. A great insight into the new... More

Not our usual activity on holiday but we decided to go for it and I'm very glad we did. Our guide Barry was very knowledgeable and managed to pack a lot in to the two hours, while keeping it lighthearted and fun. Would highly recommend.

A 2 hour walking tour around the old inner heart of Liverpool, fascinating, so much of interest. Wonderful buildings, very tasteful conversions and effective regeneration, thank you Stella & Bill for an excellent, not to be missed tour. So much to be seen and an insight into Liverpool's history. Look forward to participating in more RIBA tours, so well researched... More

Enjoyable, informative interesting but lighthearted. Our two guides, Eileen and Bill, were very professional and knowledgeable. Would recommend this walk not just for the architecture but for brief history and cultural snippets.

Thank Julia H
