    Rejuvenated Waterfront - Pier Head
The rejuvenation of Liverpool’s waterfront has brought life and colour back to the city. With an impressive array of buildings, statues, street performers and public art, if has a good vibe. It is worth wandering around and there is plenty to see and do.

Stunning waterfront lit up for charity.
Took part in a charity walk for A local Cancer Charity. The city looked glorious all lit up green. The buildings along the Liverpool waterfront were stunning. So beautiful of a night time as well as during the day.

Beautiful location, greeted by the Beatles
We recently visited Pier Head, stopping for the day on a cruise ship. The pier head is a beautiful location, and it includes the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building, and the Mersey Ferry. We enjoyed exploring this area, especially in the morning, with fewer people around. We were greeted by the Beatles' statue, which is located there. From there, take a walk along the river to the Royal Albert Dock, seeing thousands of padlocks along the way.

    Along the Riverside
Our cruise ship docked here, so we had some time to walk around and drink in the atmosphere along the riverfront. Nice views of the river and of the grand buildings that relate to the shipping industry. Also some statues and street art.

At the Pier Head, while you admire the Cunard Building, that housed the Cunard Line that owned the Titanic, among other statues and imposing buildings, you need to hold on to your hat and bag or they will be blown away in the river. The winds are so strong that the gulls sometimes fly backwards or just float on the air currents.
You can daydream for hours watching the Mersey thinking of how thousands reached from Ireland, and travelled onward to America seeking a new life. Liverpool was the gateway to America for the Irish, for those in in northern England, and to those from northern Europe. Travellers from Europe reached Hull on the North Sea and came to Liverpool by train, and sailed from there.
The statues on the Pier are magnificent, and minutely detailed. I loved the buttons and belt buckle details. What talent!
Do carry an umbrella with you as the rains are unexpected in Liverpool everyday.

We arrived at the pier head for our ferry ride up the Mersey. We had a hot drink in the cafe while we waited for the ferry boat. We boarded and there weren't many on the boat but it was early February and a windy day. There is a cafe on board selling hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cake and snacks. We had a lovely 50 minute trip with announcements of places of interest. We really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating

The Iconic Pier head can still be enjoyed during lockdown as long as social distancing is maintained of course. Our recent visit was a memorable one, with all of the area clean and well maintained. Of course the highlights are the magnificent three grace's. You can see why this is a world UNESCO site. There are many statues of Kings, monuments, war memorials and course the Beatles Statues to see as well as the city backdrop and the views over the Mersey to the Wirral. The Pier Head hosts numerous events throughout the year including the Pier Head Village, Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival, Liverpool Pride, Brazilica, Oktoberfest, Liverpool Loves and the River of Light fireworks display.

What a place to just take a stroll and immerse yourself in history, and just enjoy Liverpool. The area is massive and totally flat, wheelchair and mobility stroller friendly.

Take in the views of the mile wide river, the ferries and other boats and ships that dock right on the sidewalks. While we were there the Prince of Wales aircraft carrier was docked.

Grab some street food, an ice cream or a coffee, watch the many open top buses go by, catch a ferry across the Mersey, visit the many museums (all free entry), have a photo with the Beatles statues and other famous Scousers, take in the stunning Victorian architecture, go up to the top of or just look up at the Liver Building at the 18 foot Liver Birds that sit atop it (mythical creature; half cormorant, half eagle) the 19th century Parish Sailors Church and gardens and even just the ferry terminal building is fascinating with its Fab Four cafe.

Give yourself a full day to fully explore all that is on offer and most for free!

The majority of this area was closed off for some "music" (I use the word loosely) concert. No doubt some greedy people are making lots of money out of this. The closure meant a lot of extra unnecessary walking to get around. Having walking difficulties, this caused severe hardship. We couldn't see the Beatles statue and had to walk an extra half a mile to get to our Beatles tour, which normally picks up by the statue. Clearly the organisers have no thought or consideration for disabled people. A classic case of discrimination for monetary gain. The concert could easily have been staged in the vast expanse of Sefton Park, saving inner city congestion and leaving the magnificent buildings around Pier Head, in peace for all to enjoy.

The Liverpool waterfront is justifiably famous for its amazing architecture, a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Pier Head has to be one of the most famous waterfronts in the world, the Three Graces ,namely The Royal Liver Building, The Port Of Liverpool Building, The Cunard Building are amazing individually architecturally beautiful structures , emblematic of the city but the Pier Head offers so much more.
Walking along the riverfront is so good lots of statues and monuments to look at and learn about ,great museums to visit, all free to enter ,some nice restaurants and cafes here for refreshments and from the Pier Head you can hop the famous ferry boats over to Wallasey and Birkenhead and back again were you can take in the stunning architecture of the Pier Head waterfront, the location is cool ,a short stroll along the waterfront brings you onto the Albert Dock complex another extraordinary waterfront location, packed with great architecture, pubs, bars and restaurants, lots of museums and lovely scenic walking area's and from the Pier Head your only a 5 minute walk into the heart of the city of Liverpool.
A great area to visit,if your planning a trip to Liverpool well worth checking out.

After some of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were lifted on 4th July my twin brother Stephen and I jumped the train down to Liverpool city centre and enjoyed the great pubs and bars our city has to offer and the wonderful sites ,one of our first port of calls was the magnificent Pier Head complex.
There's so much to see and enjoy here, the three graces are here namely The Liver Building, The Port Of Liverpool Building and The Cunard Building and so many other fantastic looking building's, its one of the most famous waterfronts in the world 🌎 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
Besides the great architecture theres all manner of statue's and memorials such as The Beatles Statue,Johnny Walker Statue and innumerable other great and interesting pieces of street art ,the views across the River Mersey are stunning ,all in all its a great waterfront location to visit, a must go destination if you're planning a trip to Liverpool.

After our bus tour, we walked here to take in some of architecture if the buildings we had seen. Impressive to think that these were inspired by various influences from around the world, including the Liver, Port of Liverpool and Cunard buildings. Most impressive is that the mythical Liver Birds that sit atop of the building were taller than the bus we had been on for the tour! Worth a wander round.

As a local, come rain hail or shine I can never ever tire of my regular walks past the Albert Dock down to the Pier Head. It's good for the soul. The three graces standing proudly, the sea air from the Mersey and centuries of history all around you. Restaurants, cafes, the Maritime museum, the Museum of Liverpool, the British Music Experience, the Tate gallery, historical statues, the Ferries, huge cruise ships etc. The museums, are magnificent and free to all. Grab a coffee, stop for a while, and look up at the detail in the wonderful architecture.

Pier Head is a great little pit stop on the Mersey bank. The Beatles statue, the Liver Birds, a couple of king statues, and museums are all in a short section of the riverside. Parking is a little scarce but the tour busses do stop here.
