Visited Speke Hall yesterday, went to restaurant first as had a long journey. Meals very nice and staff friendly, restaurant very clean. Went to house then and would recommend going on Tudor tour. All guides very knowledgeable, made the visit very interesting Will definitely visit again.

We went here for a visit as part of my birthday celebrations. We had a Victorian guided tour which was very interesting and informative. The guide was enthusiastic and knowledgable and had a real sense of fun. She was very inclusive and non-stuffy in her style. We learnt a lot. We then went around the hose by ourselves after and... Went to Speke Hall for the first time. It was a gorgeous sunny day which helped. There are some lovely walks and although the coastal walk is not very pretty in some parts, strolling down by the estuary is lovely. The house itself is lovely and very ornate, with very helpful staff who explain everything. We had lunch there and... More

This is a beautiful house, very cosy with a lot to see inside. Plenty of historic references but I was particularly impressed by the story of Adelaide Watt. We did 2 tours: the Victorian and the Tudor, both guides were brilliant, very friendly and accommodating. We also went for a walk, the trail for kids was so much fun, with... More

Really enjoyed our visit to Speke Hall. We did the Victorian tour of the house where our guide, Peter was dressed as the wealthy Victorian shipping magnate, Frederick Leyland. Peter's stories about Frederick and the family from whom he'd rented Speke were both interesting and amusing and really brought the house and its history to life. We then joined Jean,... More

We only had a whistle stop tour as we arrived late in the afternoon but we very much enjoyed what we saw. Really friendly volunteers happy to tell you about the place. Seemed nice for children too with a sleeping beauty theme and trail to keep them entertained.

One of my best friends had their wedding here in a Marquee outside of the main building. It was a fantastic day and will be forever in my memory for many reasons. I went on a visit there on a school trip many years ago and the history of the place is fascinating. Be careful though - if you are... More

Really impressed with the facilities that Speak hall has to offer, that the guide book doesn't really give credit for. Children's play area / park was a great hit, as was the maze that you really can get lost in. In addition to this, there are areas of the woodland set up for young children including large drums and xylophone... More

We had a lovely day at Speke Hall. We went on the guided tour of the house, which was very informative and then walked around the beautiful gardens. We took part in the archery training, which was a lot of fun and the trainer was excellent. I would definitely visit here again.

I visited here about 15 years ago, and was not very impressed. However they have certainly improved and upped their game. Entrance was £10.90 which is pretty steep but overall I felt that it represented good value as there is plenty to see. The hall was undergoing a thorough spring clean and this did mean that some rooms were still... More
