Housed in a neoclassical temple to the arts, with an impressive columned portico around a square with other neo classic buildings, this former civic gallery, now part of National Museums & Galleried on Merseyside. Impressive paintings and sculpture. I’m always drawn to the pre Raphaelites.

One of the best collections of paintings in the country, well worth visiting. Its free entry, but it is so good you will want to make a donation.
