I will no doubt be labelled a philistine but I would strongly advise all but the most ardent luvvies to give this place a wide berth. The place is full of pretentious rubbish (including the commentaries given by the guides). Entry is free (I believe...More

Everyone has explained fulsomely just how good the Tate is. I can only agree with them. It’s mostly free, the attendants are friendly, and on the day I visited there were TWO vegetarian main courses on offer in the cafe - both of which were...More

Drenched and frozen by the docks on a Sunday, the Tate was a much-needed port in a storm. We were pleasantly surprised to see 3/4 of the floors were free and the 4th was only £10. As ever with Tate an eclectic mix of exhibits,...More

I went for the piper expo and the Lichtenstein and it was well worth it. Most of the gallery is free apart from special expos. There is a cloakroom and toilets and a nice little cafe and very good shop. So much easier to get...More

I thoroughly enjoyed going throughout the Tate Liverpool for about 2 hours during my day trip to Liverpool. It is a free museum which is awesome but the quality of the space and the art would be that of any ticketed museum! They do have...More

The Albert Dock area of Liverpool has its share of touristy shops, several museums, the Beatles Story, the Ferry 'cross the Mersey, and a generous assortment of maritime history. It's a charming place to stroll, have lunch, and take in the Tate Liverpool. I'm an...More

We specifically visited to see the John Piper exhibition which we enjoyed. The exhibits are well displayed an show the development of his styles. We also enjoyed the other galleries, including the Roy Lichenstein exhibition.

Good news is that this Tate gallery has free entrance. Having recently visited Tate St Ives, where it cost quite a lot to get in, this was a pleasant surprise. We spend most time in the Roy Lichtenstein gallery, which has a lot of his...More

I'm sorry I'm not sure. But I found a place opposite the echo. Other side of the road. Has a billboard advertising Sixt. I think. It was £4 all day. Looks like a dis used hanger but it's great.
