About
Built by Bell and Roper architects in 1876, this church served Liverpool’s rapidly growing population during the industrial revolution and is a typical structure of that period.

My wife and I have visited St. Peter's Church every year since 2011 as part of the Pool of Life Beatles tour (see our other review). As mentioned in the other reviews, this site is significant for Beatles fans as in July 6, 1957, Paul...More

Famous for being the resting place of Eleanor Rigby, but is also last resting place John Lennon's Uncle George (Aunt Mimi's husband) and across the road, at the church hall, is the place where John and Paul first met. It's a beautiful typically english churchyard,...More

It was over the road from here, in the Chruch Hall, that John Lennon met Paul McCartney, and it's in the graveyard here that is buried the famous Eleanor Rigby.

It's true: they did - at a church fete right here and it's interesting to ponder how things might have been very different if that meeting had never happened. The other reason Beatles fans come here is to find the grave of Eleanor Rigby, immortalised...More

Went here to see Eleanore Rigby's grave as I'm sure everyone else does. It's a beautiful grave and nice to see people respect it by not damaging it. Great little stop for any Beatles fan.

This is where the Quarrymen played the church fete in 1957, and where Paul was introduced to John ,by a mutual friend , in the church hall across the road. Also within the churchyard are the graves of Eleanor Rigby, John's uncle George (Mimi's husband)...More
