Completed in 1978 this is the largest Anglican cathedral in Europe. Inside, the lack of adornments only adds to vastness of the "great space." A combination of elevator and stairs takes visitors to the exterior heights of the tower and some grand views of the city and landscapes below. A small fee is required for the vista experience.

Just stunning and worth a look. The only thing that we couldnt do was to climb the 108 steps up the tower. Not that it was an issue as i hate heights lol

An extraordinary building in an impressive location. Not as aesthetically pleasing as many medieval cathedrals - but blimey it is big! Lots of interior interest, Ladies, chapel, chapter house and lots of interesting features. Not sure about the Tracy Emin - but it's there now.

A truly impressive building, amazing chapels, high vaulted ceilings and truly stunning stained glass windows, and hand carved decor such as wooden pews and altars. This building is so imposing and definitely worth spending some time absorbing all the information provided and the scale of this cathedral. Staff and guides were really friendly and added a wealth of information to... More

We attended a charity Carol Concert at the Cathedral in December which reminded me what an amazing building Liverpool Cathedral is! As a lad growing up in Liverpool I remember seeing the finishing touches being added to the final wing and the official opening ceremony. I'm told my great grandfather worked on the building as a stonemason for most of... More

The largest cathedral in the UK and well worth a visit - while seemingly austere outside, it 'glows' inside and radiates a warmth and a welcome. My wife and I sat for a long time in this magnificent and tranquil building - not to be missed!
