Wanted to check out the inside but it's only open for services. Surrounding outside area pleasant in the sunshine. Architectural gem on the outside.

Not only is this stunning inside and out, there is also a family of peregrine falcons which nest outside! The inside is stunning, high, decorative ceilings and held Richard III's tomb when he was discovered. Lit up with candles and trees over chrismas and is the venue for vintage fayres throughout the year, definately a place to visit!

Being in this cathederal was so beautiful. There was something overwhelmingly peaceful about the entire building, and one of the highlights of being there was when the organist played for us, elevating the entire experience to an almost holy level.

I wanted to have a wander around some of the historic places in Leicester on a sunny weekend. Having never been to the cathedral I made the effort this time and I'm glad I did. Met some helpful people too so please go ahead and have a look around here.

Of course this is now the final resting place of the "king in the car park", Richard III. The memorial to Richard is worth the trip in itself and has been brilliantly and tastefully done. What impressed me as well was the fantastic refurbishment of the cathedral and its surrounding area, including a new visitor centre. The cathedral is situated... More

We enjoyed our unplanned visit. The staff were welcoming and helpful and you do not have to pay to enter, you can, of course, make a voluntary contribution. The Cathedral although quite small compared to some others, was interesting and the stained glass windows were beautiful. The Tomb of King Richard 111 is simple and dignified and there are items... We have visited a few times and never tire of seeing King Richard's final resting place and the beautiful pall which adorned his coffin before burial. The cathedral is a place of calm and beauty. We have always found volunteers to be informative and helpful. Look out for the football in the stained glass window! It's just across the road... More
