The garden is owned by the national trust, but free to visit. Located behind Rydal church, it was in full bloom of bluebells when we visited today. A gentle 10 minute stroll, with plenty of seats and benches to sit and dream, contemplate, or read...

This small wooded area close to Rydal Hall looks stunning when covered in daffodils - usually late March/early April. If walking around Rydal Water or up to Rydal Hall and Mount don't miss this small area next to the pretty churhcyard.

Dora's field is directly opposite Rydal Lodge. It's an interesting excursion taking about an hour to explore (at the most) unless wanting to chill out for a while. It's not well maintained but worth a quick visit.

Just called here for a short walk obviously no daffodils at this time but plenty of wild fauna and flora which are attracting butterflies and insects very nicely. This is a peaceful little spot albeit by the main road. Remnants of slate walls from days...More

No daffodils out at this time of year but a beautiful spot with views over Rydal lake. Done as a tribute to Wordsworth's daughter who died young.

I stopped at Dora's Field while walking from Grasmere to Ambleside. The daffodils were unfortunately out of bloom, but it was still very peaceful and a nice spot to stop for a rest.

When we are in the area we love to visit Dora's Field. Timing the visit when the thousands of daffodils are in full bloom is a bonus and they are followed a few weeks later by a brilliant show of bluebells. This time we did...More
