The staff is nice, but overall there isn't much there there. I left feeling like I had paid to visit a friend's house and he was using the money to upkeep a slightly above average garden. Meanwhile, the house docent is filled w/ facts, but struggles w/ the lack of substance. "The main stairs startng sagging due to the heavy... More

The garden is worth a visit. The guide to the house was unable to sift the the boring from what could have been of interest. We walked out. The atmosphere is stuffy. No dogs allowed even on a lead. We didn't feel like visiting the tearoom it was too dark.

Whilst we did not visit the house itself the shop was heaven for marmalade fans and the tearoom fare was fresh and delicious. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. A highlight for the younger members of our party was the delightful former gamekeeper who invited us to feed the estate's deer and the wild birds which responded... More

Visited this afternoon at 3pm. Barely a smile upon arrival, had to 'yoo hoo' someone from the kitchen to serve us. Cafe open until 4:30 yet they were all packing up at 3! No kitchen staff on as had gone home so only bits and bats left. Extremely disappointing

My family come here family regularly for walks and to buy some of their brilliant marmalade. In winter the restaurant always have a great log fire going , and the staff are friendly , a good spot to spend an hour or two depending how far you walk.

Poor food. High prices. Lovely location. £5.50 for a sausage sandwich. 1 sausage cut in half. 3 crisps. Stale bap. Stale scone obviously made a few days earlier. Overall lovely house and area. Mediocre food in my opinion

The House is open between 10.30 and 3.30 Sundays to Thursdays, although access to the house is by way of a guided tour up to 2.00pm when after it becomes free flow. The award winning gardens are superb; being small, compact and with views over the countryside. The lower gardens are slightly less well maintained and access is somewhat limited... More
