We enjoyed the magnificent views of this Lake District area. We love the many species of water fowls at the little pier. Definitely worth a visit.

We love visiting Derwentwater as it's easy to get to from Keswick centre (5 mins walk) and even just strolling a short way around the shore guarantees some stunning scenery. Depending on the ground situation (some areas can get flooded) it is possible to walk...More

This is a Great Lake for a walk round. About 11 leisurely miles on well prepared pathways. Close to the lake nearly all the way around. There is a couple of short stretches on the road but most of the way the dog can roam freely....More

I’ve not visited the lakes for many years and staying just outside Keswick decided to complete the walk around Derwentwater ... it is a good 10 miles and really only suitable for those who are reasonably fit as the terrain in parts gets difficult, especially...More

This is a fabulous lake to sail on or walk round. When the water is low enough, usually in summer, you can walk the shoreline apart from at Keswick. The views are breathtaking and it can be so peaceful.

A special place lovely for walking and an excellent location next to Keswick for beautiful autumn hikes and viewing the autumnal colour of the trees.

I get points for this...no honestly I do. It's a nice lake...quite wet...especially when it rains which it does a lot. It's not the biggest lake, or the deepest lake but it's beautifully framed by the hills. Access is good and the views are stunning...when...More

The route I suggested would be impossible with a buggy as you scramble up some rocks on the ascent. You could go up the steps where we descended and come back the same way however I think it would be tough going! You might... More
