I am completely flummoxed that anyone would suggest it’s a stretch to connect this museum/building with Potter! Not only was the building her husband’s office (and was used in one of her books), but the building is FULL of her original drawings and illustrations as...More

Charming place to visit, especially with children. Would recommend you become acquainted with Beatrix Potter and friends.

The Beatrice Potter Gallery is a National Trust property housed in her husband's office when he was a solicitor/lawyer. It has original miniatures and artwork on show. There is a tiny play area in a corner for young children.

This old building has a vague connection to Beatrix Potter - was her lawyer’s office evidently. For a fairly stiff fee, one walks thru rooms containing some drawings in glass cases. This was a major disappointment- do not bother

A fascinating insight into this woman's life beyond her books. Beautiful illustrations of her pen and ink drawings of her characters which are exquisite but also an insight into how much she wanted to help women. If she employed someone she made sure she would...More

An interesting little museum, which gives you an insight into Beatrix's life, and interactions with locals here. Some interesting letters on people she didn't get on with, not someone to fall out with I think

Visited again today. Such a quaint place. Narrow staircase so not good for people with mobility problems. The drawings on display are changed annually so no problem with repeat visits. They are all housed in the historical building which was the Hellis Solicitors offices.

I agree. A pleasant winding drive to get there, but not a lot else to see.
