Fabulous day out had by all! Our 3 & 4 year old would normally moan about walking this distance but they literally RAN the whole way wanting to see what was around the next corner! Will certainly be back!!

Countryside as it should be. Lush & green & well looked after. I have never seen grass and countryside so beautifully green! Sheep around every corner, trees, forests, walks,wild flowers, wildlife, breathtaking scenery,easy to travel by car.

Nice visitor centre, kids play area and cafe with ice creams. There is a easy walk around the Go Ape site. Parking is pricey however.

There are a number of cycle routes all clearly signed and graded according to difficulty. Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre website gives you prices for hiring bikes - these vary depending on the type of bike you want to hire... More

yes you can hire bikes and are lots of routes. Unsure of cost.

I would go into Hawkshead too or if your near Windermere go from there takes about 10 mins and a good road to travel on.
