This takes about 2 hours from village center. A lot of steps and quite steep in places but well worth it. Stunning views of the country side. From here you can carry on to gibside knot

Good climb to top via a clearly set out path of steep stepping stones. Good stamina required, but keep going and you will be well rewarded. Views at top spectacular

Lovely walk from Grasmere. Easy to navigate, reasonably steep but the views at the top are wonderful. My children scrambled over the 'Lion' and the 'Howitzer' with ease. Nice couple of hours walk.

Though steep, most of the ascent is paved with steps and stones, making it a manageable, if arduous, climb, providing a magnificent view of Grasmere and further afield.

This is, of course, such a well known and iconic walk. The rewards for the climb from Grasmere are some scintillating views in all directions. The famous Lion and the Lamb formation always intrigues me! After so many visits, I still can't see it!

If you want a short walk before dinner, or first thing before leaving for home it's great (up and down in 2.5 hours - 4.2 miles). Even better, once you're up there, continue along the ridge and return down Far Easedale (5.5 hours - 8.6...More
