Great walk in glorious sunshine

Had a brilliant walk from Grasmere in glorious sunshine. A reasonably gentle climb from the village and easy paths to follow.

This is very much worth the climb up from Grasmere below. Then a nice circular walk back round through Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott ...

First walk of the year so picked a relatively easy route so the legs would not be suffering too much the next day. Set off from Grasmere carpark (£8.00 for over 4 hours, wow!!). Walked up Helms crag over to Calf Crag then looped back down the valley. The weather was cold but bright and we even got a little... More

this walk took around 2-3hrs from start to finish. It is quite steep in place, but lots of opportunities to have a breather. The views from the peak are stunning. at the summit id the renowned Lion and The Lamb rock formation and the howitzer, managed to get to the top of both which was great. Park in Grasmere and... This is a nice walk through woods, the views are wonderful, you can return to Grassmere along different paths to the pub.

Went via Far Easedale to the Lion and the Lamb. Lovely walk with great views and lots of Wainwright history. And still so close to fab tea shops!

Lovely walk with very steep climbing areas. View from the top is worth the effort. Visit the "lion and the lamb" and the "howitzer" - the areas of rock at the top of the hill - small hill but tricky and still has a wow factor.

Children and adults alike will love this small mountain. It's a steep but quick climb with excellent views over grasmere and the surrounding fells. A real sense of achievement and costs nothing.

We walked all the way round the ridge via Easdale Tarn and Sargeant Man and Calf Crag. Very steep climb - not for the feint hearted!
