Came across this little place on a walk, we were with our dog and wanted to have a cup and look out on the lake, we queried how much the boat hire was and the owner was very abrupt and just replied dogs weren't allowed - we obviously weren't going to take our dog on the boat just before sunset... Unfortunately the day we visited, it was thick heavy fog so the views that we had read about weren't available for us to enjoy. We saw the boats moored and the area was still very busy with tourists despite the weather. Very popular café.

Walked into the garden area after a walk with my family. Saw the boats moored by the lake and wandered down with my young daughter to take a photo. Owner came running out to ask if he could help. Before I had time to reply he said " we are running a business not a free opportunity to take photos... More

No, I'm not having that... For clarification, I did NOT 'run out'... I asked if I could help you, to which your lady waved her camera at me and continued wandering down the garden and the rest of you ignored me. You then came up and said I was 'rude' before I could even speak to you... I then wished... More

Friendly helpful staff (owner?)- working very hard doing the boats and serving customers, and polite young lad helping him; we took a boat out and then had a drink looking over the gorgeous view. Idyllic location, mix of boating and lovely treats for morning or afternoon tea/coffee break, quirky 'gypsy' caravan decoration. A lovely spot.(You can only eat food purchased... More

After walking around the Lake, we stopped here for a coffee and cream scones. It was tasty and the scenery nice, with a swan out of the water ignoring people and dog. Covered area and garden with tables but no inside sitting.

We stumbled upon this place inadvertently while on a walk along the lake as it started to pour with rain. It was a great decision as the setting is tranquil with great views of the boats and the lake. The selection of teas was high quality and they also had some nice Italian sweet treats which we enjoyed. Great hidden... More

Visited Grasmere on a Monday morning in mid-September and we were rewarded with the most glorious of weather. When we walked down to the lake from the village, we came across The Faeryland Café. When we were sat out in the garden watching the rowers on the lake in the rowing boats, we were actually getting burnt by the sun.... More

Great little stop to have tea and scone, also fantastic mulled apple juice. Combined with boat ride in a beaut October sunny day £15 for hour, made our couple of days special. The owner simply lovely and helpful! Recommend a visit in this lovely scenic lake!

Such an idyllic spot - just a walk down the road from Grasmere you can't help but be delighted by Faeryland. The views are fantastic - you can take your sweetheart out on a rowing boat around the lake and then have tea, coffee and cake while watching the Swans. The tea is superb and my pot contained three and... More

The Faery Tearooms are a short walk from Grasmere village (although there are limited car parking spaces there). You can hire rowing boats by the hour and they give you an wonderful alternative view of Grasmere and the surrounding mountains. After your rowing you can rest at he tea shop that has an amazing variety of teas. Highly recommended.
