Potting Shed Café offers very good food. Fish and chips was excellent with delicate batter. My whole party of five were well satisfied with smoked salmon and prawn sandwich as well as the humble ham and cheese. Generous helpings and great service.
Called in for lunch after walking around grasmere. We took a seat and went to the counter to order and was greeted by a grumpy staff member who clearly couldn't be bothered with any customers....I was told the jacket potatoes wernt ready...it was 11.40 yet...More

This is a great garden centre with added bonus of gifts and clothes. It has a large car park for customers 'only'. There is a cafe but I tend to eat elsewhere. It is quite often so busy and the queues are very long.
Warm and friendly staff. Good selection of plants. Delightful shop with unusual and pretty gifts. Lovely café with homemade food and plenty of choice and most importantly it was dog friendly throughout. Thank you for making our day so good.

The garden centre is a minor player; there is both a small cafe ( tiffin looks good) and a shop selling country casual clothing and nic-nacs with a smallish garden centre attached. Azaleas grow well in this climate
This really was a lovely so full of variety clothes, toys, pottery, plants and have a decent sale on
Some of the items were overpriced but well worth a visit for some hidden gems
There is also a little restaurant inside and the food smelt lush
