I had walked over Loughrigg Fell from Ambleside and was looking for a route back when I stopped into the National Trust visitor center. Very helpful gentleman showed me a map and pointed me in the direction of the Coffin Road. Convenient stop for information if in the area.

It is closed and there is a garden centre in its place. The garden centre is worth a visit and has a nice tearoom

Rather small for a tourist centre, but has the usual stuff - no pavement outside so be careful of traffic

If you want to visit any attraction/shop/lake/cruise, make sure it would take less than 2 hours. As a disabled person visiting the area, I do not want to have to worry about getting a parking ticket because I was late getting back to my car. why not take note from York, Chester and many other towns. Operate a park and... More

Lovely National Trust information centre in heart of village. Had a few queries which were answered immediately by the staff, their local knowledge seemed good, quaint little gift shop also.
