Interesting visit and interesting listening to facts about Donald Campbell's attempt to break world record. Interesting that Gina Campbell gifted the Bluebird K 7 to the Ruskin museum

After a coffee in the Bluebird cafe we went on board the Gondola, a beautiful steam boat which took us on a 45 minute cruise on this world famous lake. The staff on board were knowledgeable and very friendly, a must when in the area and quite chilling to pass over the spot where Donald Campbell was killed. 10/10

Went for a visit just to see where Bluebird ran all those years ago. Very picturesque and peaceful although in the summer I would presume it gets much busier. Had breakfast in the Bluebird Cafe which was delicious if not somewhat expensive and the staff were excellent.

I am lucky enough to live in Cumbria and so sometimes take for granted what I have on my own doorstep, but a day trip to Coniston Water really is a treat, especially at this time of year (May) where the bluebells are still thriving and the masses of wild garlic lines the country lanes at the head of the... There are some lovely walks round this lake. You can approach one such walk from Torver down to the waters edge through woodland. Simply beautiful.

Our visit to this 3rd largest lake was unfortunately wet and rainy. Went to Coniston and stopped at Bluebird Cafe for a bite and a hot drink and despite the rain we thoroughly enjoyed the sights. Stopped at Brantwood and just enjoyed the countryside. Continued till Newby. Nice day out

Having drove around this many times on our stay in the Lakes we decided to go on a boat trip to view it from the centre. Buy your tickets from the Tourist info in Coniston centre to save a few pound. There was 45/60/90 mins options and we were told there was only the 45 min option remaining for the... More

lovely place to see and was very tranquil. Was going to go on the Gondola again but as price has gone up to £11 per person this seem rather high. This could be reduced to give more people chance to go on this for a lower cost

Really enjoyed a boat ride on the lake and short walk back into Coniston itself. it's very picturesque and the walking is not too strenuous. At times the path is not clearly marked but you can normally follow someone else!
