If you are staying in Coniston or can park, this walk is a must do. From an easy walk in to the copper mines, it is pretty much unrelenting to the top (easier in dry weather, a bit slippery when wet), but well worth the...More

Started from the end of Walna Scar Road, classed as the fast easy route. A good route with amazing views on a clear day. Some light scrambling near the top but nothing too difficult.

Tough walk but good to get to the top - wouldn't suit the infirm or folk with young kids - can be cold on the top even if warm in the valley

I was lucky enough to go up on a very clear day, you pass a number of small waterfalls and a beautiful tarn. Its not too difficult a walk but does test you.

No, if you and your son are up for some adventure and don't mind carrying the obligatory large picnic and even bigger bag of harribo then I would do it with my kids. You could get up there in an hour if you walk from the... More

Hi David, I would say that the route is not suitable for a disabled buggy. It is quite a rough route and even an able bodied person is going to need to do a bit of scrambling to get up.
