Popped into this bookshop after arriving in Ambleside and deciding to explore (I love buying books when away, as I am both a book nerd and love having a little something from something far away). I was pleasantly surprised by this little independent book shop...More

We popped into this small independent book shop for a replacement map and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of stock it had. If you can make it up the narrow stairs then there are some great bargains!

Lovely owner very helpful and always willing to chat about books. The shop carries a good stock of books and I love the collection of local books for sale, a great shop to browse around.

A lovely bookshop with massive range and clearance items on the second floor. It is what a bookshop should be and I hope it doesn't close because it would be a huge loss to Ambleside. They still give you the book in a paper bag...More

I really love spending time here shopping for books. Loads of choice to get a great read. The place is very quaint and full of character. Its the small things that make the difference like getting your book wonderfully wrapped up in a paper bag.
