Pleasant oasis

A delightful calm spot in the middle of Tunbridge Wells, nothing stunning, but really pleasant and a great value café reviewed separately

Every year from mid November to early January, Tunbridge Wells has its very own festive ice rink set up in the beautiful grounds of Calverly Park. This is the 3rd year I've been and it's always such a treat! This year I went with my sisters, husband and nephews and we chose a quiet time (10am on a week day)... More

Such a lovely, huge, open space smack in the centre of a bustling town. Perfect for a quick escape, as seen by all the people having picnic lunches in their work break during warmer months.

The park is a great location for taking a break away from the busy town, the park is well maintained with a lot places to sit and relax. The park however is a different story at night and I would not recommend anyone visiting or walking through it at night as it can be a magnet for people drinking.

We were looking for a Toilet and a lady told us to turn next to Sainsbury express, there was a lovely park with toilets and lovely seating round the park, we had our Lunch there and came back later with some ice- creams, a really lovely park.

Tunbridge Wells is blessed for greenery and this is a very nice park to stroll through. I found the unusual War Memorial monolith (in the article picture) one of the most interesting I have seen.

having a bit of time to kill on a hot summer day I thought I would take a stroll through the Calverly grounds.. I had not been here for quite some time and while still pleasant enough I seem to remember it being better in bygone times.. the cafe is open .. for a while it was closed.. but the... More

Park in the centre of RTW - it's very pretty and has some tennis courts and b'ball courts at the top but no play area for small children. I have heard that this will be built there soon though. One really cool thing is that they sometimes have small music festivals here. There is a cafe in the park and... More

A beautiful park. Spent my childhood playing there, my teenage years getting drunk in it, my childrearing years relaxing in it while the children played, my 40's reading in it and now I take my grandchildren there. It's always well looked after and clean (except perhaps on a Sunday morning when the teenagers have been getting drunk in it. Nothing... More
