I confess to being totally unprepared beforehand for the sheer scale and complexity of the effort that went into creating this subterranean labyrinth of tunnels, shafts and stairwells that so magnificently protected Ramsgate's citizens during the war. I took my boys to see the tunnels and we all thought it was very enlightening . They probably need to create a warmer haven for coffee drinkers though as that might put people off. Good value tour nevertheless

Excellent guide with a passion for the tunnels part in history, a must for children, to see the part in the second world war played by the tunnels, and as a train station.

Enthusiastic volunteers have opened up these tunnels under the town and give a fascinating insight into what it was like to shelter and even live underground during WW2. Wear sensible shoes as ground is a bit uneven in places, but not a problem

An excellent local guide explained the fascinating history of a large network of tunnels with railway and war time connections. Takes over an hour, walk a couple of miles on the level, modest entry fee. Educational for all ages. Recommended my me!

Went on a guided tour of the tunnels. Absolutely amazing to see how the people of Ramsgate survived the war and how they lived. Only started recently but full marks to all concerned and the guide. Take a jacket and good walking shoes

I think you will now see this as Ramsgate Tunnels. We were in Ramsgate to see the Tunnels, which are Very Good, if you love your History or lived in Ramsgate during WW2.

Definately worth a visit. As they open up more of the tunnels, it will be worth a second visit for sure.
