Spent several hours exploring the drop redoubt on one of it's open days. Quite busy, well organised event. Fascinating to explore the amazing underground facilities which still remain here and imagine what it would have been like to 'live' in these during times of war....More

We had a fantastic time at the fort. Everyone was very friendly and ready to provide historical tidbits. The fort was filled with people picnicking, an arts and crafts market, historical reenactments, and more! A great place to explore, with endless surprises!

There is a cafe selling drinks and cakes inside the Redoubt and a burger van but only over the open weekend, four days a year. But the site is only 5minutes drive from the main town, or a 15 minute slow walk.
