Visited with young kids on a term time weekday. Lovely walk round this big site - bring good shoes. Enough cafes spread out across the zoo to break up with the walk. Kids loved all the animals, especially the elephants and gibbons.

love this zoo. Have been taking my children here since they were young and have always enjoyed it. Great range of animals and a beautiful walk, but long. Expensive so I advice is to take a picnic as there are great places to sit.

Brilliant place to visit. I hate zoos however the conservation work they do is amazing. Plenty of cafés dotted around. Disabled access, loads of walking so be prepared! The keepers are very helpful and informative. Lots of talks about the animals at various times

Visited while spending a few days at Broome Park. I wasn't expecting much was pleasantly surprised. I have never seen so many rare species in one location. All the animals have plenty of room to move around, and they appear to be very well cared for. It's great to see the amount of conservation work that is going on. Many... More

Well kept park which is pleasant enough on its own to stroll through without the wildlife. Though not enormous has watering holes and toilets well distributed around the park. Most important of all the animals appear content, have plenty of space including shelter and privacy away from baying and prying visitors. Despite this they are among the liveliest animals we've... Its set in lovely natural surroundings and was is very relaxing wandering about looking at the various animals and woodland type walks. It was great to see Gorillas so close up as i haven't experienced this species since i was a small child. The staff were... More

We visited Howletts as a second day of visiting both the Aspinall Foundations Kent parks. Our priority was to see Clouded Leopards, and following a chance meeting with Keeper Mark, this was facilitated. Thank you to Mark for allowing us to view the feeding of the Cloudys, and for sharing his knowledge of these remarkable cats. We'd encourage everyone to... More

I visit Howletts regularly with my two young children and it is different every time. We love watching the animals exploring the various stimulating activities in their enclosures. This visit we had a great encounter with the lemurs, the keeper was on hand advising us to tuck our fingers away and stay still, we did just that and have come... More

I read some reviews and I am shocked ....know the history and check out the good work. I am no hippy or someone who has strong animal rights views....the zoo is amazing and if you stay long enough to watch at each enclosure you will find ... If you want the animals controlled go back to Victorian days ....my partner... More
