From the bridge on the road, manned punts are available to take you along the river for a 45 minute ride, leaving from some beautiful gardens. A walk along the path adjacent to the River Stour makes for a nice stroll, with seats available to sit & enjoy the views & tranquillity. Well worth walking to the West Gate for... More

There is no much to say. Just go. Walk around. Have a look at the gorgeous flowers. And enjoy the peace of the water.

Loved walking along the banks of the river, enjoying the flowers, bird life, and several memorials. Would have liked to go punting on the river, but a leg injury prevented this.

Great for wildlife and photos. Would recommend a gondola or boat ride on the water. Lots of art sculptures to see. Dotted with pubs and cafes. Dropped on good weather so a perfect day.

Our son took us here for the first time today - amazingly well planted and tended beds, and glorious lawns, with the shallow river flowing through one side. Well worth a visit - it's a great 20min walk or a place to spend an hour with a picnic lunch or longer just contemplating life, the universe and everything!

Walked though the gardens and as always, the flowerbeds are amazing and the grass is manicured. The river flowing through is good for the soul.

Westgate Gardens is a very well maintained and pretty place to relax, especially when the sunshine is out. You have the river running through it, the mix of architecture which spreads through several 100 years and many well looked after flower beds. One of the prettiest places to go in Canterbury, which I would recommend everyone goes to.

But Canterbury has lots more to offer than just the Cathedral. If you like shopping it has great shops the high st is pedestrianised. There is so much history... More

Canterbury will surprise you with its wealth of character and jewels. Westgate Gardens is one them. Discreet yet captivating. Go follow my IG Air_Drone_1.
