Lovely place, atmospheric house showing the life of Shaw. Loved the summer house in the garden which had a bed in it!

The tour guides were knowledgeable and made the visit worthwhile. It may be a little out of the way but has parking and signposts but access to upstairs could be difficult for those with walking issues.

The writer Bernard Shaw lived and worked here from 1906 until he died in 1955. The building, whose exterior looks quite undistinguished, was built in 1902. I did not have time to go inside the building, but instead took a quick look at its superbly maintained beautiful gardens. A curiosity in the gardens is Shaw's rather basic looking revolving garden... More

Approached by narrow, winding and leafy lanes, Shaw's Corner sits discreetly in the Hertfordshire countryside. George Bernard Shaw's home for over 40 years is unspectacular architecturally, but its former owner, his story and possessions provide the main reason to visit this property. Rarely will you encounter a Nobel Prize and an actual Oscar statuette in the same room, but you... More

A great afternoon visit. The house is exactly as G.B. Shaw set it for posterity. The staff of the National Trust have been extremely helpful and welcoming. A beautiful garden and don't miss the Writer's Hut!

George Bernard Shaw lived here and, as you'd expect, the place is full of interesting objects relating to the author and history oozes out of every room. There are guided tours available but you might need to check the times of these - and opening dates and times - on the National Trust website. I believe the house is closed... More

It was a bit hard to find but once we did the staff were extremely helpful and the house and grounds were delightful. Parking is limited but we arrived early and parked easily when we left the car park was full. It was worth going just to use the toilet which should be listed. My only issue is the entrance... More

Well maintained home of Shaw. You could almost imagine that he had just gone out for the day.Large garden, the main feature of which is the hut where he did his writing.Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Enjoyed visiting the house, it was very homely and the volunteers gave a lot of information about the house and this made it more enjoyable to visit. The gardens were lovely too

We joined the national trust and this was our first place to visit, the guide was very informative, the house was interesting, the grounds also, worth a visit, nice in the summer to sit in the grounds during one of the plays etc that are put on there each year.
