As opposed to the 'other' museum, this one doesn't go as far back as the Romans but tends to focus on the last couple of centuries- great exhibitions of Victorian and Edwardian life in St.Albans

This is a well laid out museum with a walk through that makes sense of the town through the ages and also presents relics and artefacts that have been found. Was on a timed ticket but worth the visit

Unfortunately the museum is now closed permanently. It was a great place to take the kids t discover more about the city they lived in. We went there this weekend and discovered its closure. So sad....

Thank you for your review, we're working hard on the plans for the new museum & gallery, keep an eye on our website for news of that and the events we're running elsewhere during the closure! http://www.stalbansmuseums.org.uk/

Not altogether inspiring. Mix of local history some if which is covered off by Verulamium Museum in the park. Interesting temporary art exhibition at the time of our visit.

Lots to see and very well organised, lots to for children too. It's surprising what can be learnt and the exhibits are clearly labeled to ease understanding.
