A lovely theatre, not too big and not too small. We sat in one of the boxes - not the best place to see the whole stage but nice and close. It's a shame that the show we went to was somewhat boring (Salad Days)...More

I've seen multiple shows here. It really is a lovely theatre, the bar and foyer area is modern, whilst the auditorium is beautifully decorated as a traditional theatre. Seats are comfortable with good leg room. Due to the size of the theatre, where ever you...More

Went to this lovely small but handsome theatre to see the Activ8 dance show and competition. Kids put on a good performance and worked their socks off. Well done everyone involved. Good comfortable seating up in the gods, excellent view of the whole stage.

What a great little theatre. Small but efficient bar. The staff in the bar and in the theatre are extremely helpful and go way beyond the norm.

Sasha Regan’s All-Male Company performing Iolanthe was the best theatre experience of the year. They are SUCH a talented group- acting, dancing and most of all singing with skill, joy and humour. You could hear every word. If you missed them in Winchester, do try...More

We saw Brighton Rock here and absolutely loved it! The production was faultless and the venue wonderful. It's quite small so you always get a good view and the acoustics sound great. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Great venue!

Four of us went to see 'Crimes under the Sun '. It was a truly laugh out loud comedy. The actors were amazing, only four actors playing the dozen or so characters - impressive. The theatre itself is quite small and cosy providing a nice...More

Just seen "The Importance of Being Earnest" by a touring company at this small theatre. It suits classic plays especially, as the auditorium is Edwardian style and the intimacy of the small scale ensures everyone in the audience feels close to the stage. The bar...More

Helpful staff and a good range of acts and shows. I went to see Ed Byrne, which was a lot of fun, and the theatre made the purchase and collection of tickets easy. There is a bar and cafe inside, as well as local bars...More

There’s a small car park very near, in Jewry St, if you’re lucky enough to find a space. We normally travel by rail or else park and ride as Theatre Royal is close to the station and P&R bus stops.
